The GEO Metro, OBD1 , on board diagnostic codes, DTC, errors and diagnostic jumper pins are shown here.  (a sure thing, first step for no spark.) Aka. the FLASH CODES !

Engine problems ?, Oh my gosh which engine is there? (If in USA, open hood, look up and under and behold the EPA sticker, the engine option is clearly stated there.)
Swift: (all names are Suzuki )
1.3 L M13AI4 (petrol)
1.5 L M15AI4 (petrol)
1.2 L K12BI4 (petrol)
1.4 L K14BI4 (petrol)
1.6 L M16AI4 (petrol)
1.3 L MultijetI4 (diesel)

Geo who?
The Metro GM(Geo) offered same engines renamed only, using real Suzuki (G series ) engines.

SOHC engines all. and all have cam belt drive (60,k mile life span)

1.0 L LP2 I3 (G10) have HLA lifters 1989 to 2001 and as much as 58 miles per gallon! TBI single injection.
(in 2000 was the last TBI engine in USA , oddity) The 1992-94 G10 TBI , ECU schematic looks like this. (and works just like G16A, in Sidekicks/Tracker and Vitara’s, less one cylinder)

1.3 L L72 I4 (G13BA)  with solid lifters. 1992 to 1995 TBI single injection, G10/13 TBI ECU all are near same (logically) on all years. All with that funky series injector resistor block.

1.3 L LY816-valve I4 (G13BB )  1998 to 2001 SOHC  See Schematic here (first Suzuki usage 1995) MPI. & has solid lifters. The G13BA is DOHC, and seen on Swifts, but not Metro’s.
