What I learned is that it's much easier to remove the rear bumper to do the welding on the bar. At the same time, I was able to put some POR on these parts.

Some POR-15 and then follow up with 3M Pro Undercoating Spray cans.

Project nearly done. Waiting on fuel sending unit to put everything back together.

POR15 is great stuff, it blocks oxygen (no more iron oxide)
nice fix there, a base plate and then weld them in last.

All done! It was a big project to bring everything up to snuff....This is a shot just prior to putting the rear bumper cover back on.

Looks very familiar, after the first day I decided to spring for a "Spray Sock" to cover my head while painting under a car with that kind of paint.
