hey jerry I checked my records at rock http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframec...ttype=1688 I had wagner part no 2s71 0, ha I got them a penny cheaper than advertised. i do remember having to rig the brakes so they would work. they didnt have the nub for the adjuster, so I tapped the hole and added a screw so the adjuster would work. i will take a pic of them tomorrow, and post it. plus the radius was a little wrong, now that i am remembering, the length was good tho. at any rate. thanks as always for your response. cheers. good morning., bill
first off , missing holes are wrong shoes.
getting the correct brake parts is never easy. and 10x worse if PO swapped parts. and Suzuki does have the parts, like, adjusters, etc. as do others.
2CNBE1867T693 The E code means, 2WD and car is 2 door right?
2door car has brakes on rear with different width and arc diameter. 8 inch for 2doors, and 10 inch for 4doors the 4door shoes are in fact .42 inches wider, almost half and inch. 10mm wider

what is your drum diameters, 8 or 10"?
i have the suz. parts list here, and the wheel cylinders are the same as are many tiny parts, but not , drums , shoes or backing plates.

wagner is now federal. mogul.

photos , see here at details of shoes set right.
91 2door shoes
[Image: rightrear-1w.jpg]

brake adjuster seen below, does not exist on 1996, that changes, as did the shoes. you can NOT mix pre and post 96 parts here.
if you do , you need the full parts list.

if you have 8 inch drums
and the shoes, hit the drum (impossible)
they are either
1: 10 inch shoes, .4 inch wider , wrong year, do not use pre 96 shoes on this car, they will NOT FIT.
2: or the wrong shoes and if missing holes, they are , the wrong shoes. if the shoes are 8inch, my guess is you bought 95 shoes.

here is the photo of your 96, see new adjuster? all 96+ kicks, have a vast array of new parts, mixing pre 96 with 96+ takes careful checking .
we have the suz parts lists. and can advise, the lists are also sold on Ebay from time to time, printed. or an EPC.

very hard to find shoes those wagners, they seem to be, NOS< new old stock and no longer sold. (by most)

napa? pn below. for napa. shoes ,etc. 8inch
Part Number: TS TS10710
and spring kit is here, at napa , below... if you need it. (they can do inter store, transfers , lighting fast, btw)

http://www.fixkick.com/brakes/96-new-parts1.jpg on this image it was part # 17 that hooks onto the nub on the brake shoe, there was a hole there vs the nub that the spring operated adjusting mechanism that clicks on the adjuster. So I tapped a 3/32 hole or something and put a small threaded screw in there to hold it in place so it would do the job of moving the adjuster. your pic looks like the correct parts on my 96. oreillys is having a set for me tomorrow at 8 am. so I will check specs and see if they are right. And let you know.

so Here is what I found after taking valve cover off tonite and rechecking the lash. i turned crank till i got rotor at one and checked lash on #1 cyl the front exhaust was a little loose, i could get 7 thou in ther if i forced it. so all was good on that I then rotated till
#3 was tdc and I looked at lash adjusters and the forward lash adjuster was gone!!!!!! so there was the culprit, My first thought was that it had broken off, I was amazed that it was still lying in the bottom of the head with no damage to thread nut or anything else. I went ahead and screwed it b ack in and set lash and went through the rest of the cylinders and did a little tweaking on what I thought needed. I got it put back together and fired it up and man it purrs like a kitten now. I am so relieved.

So tomorrow hopefully wont bring fireworks on the tracker but hopefully will be ones of celebration where we can take the car for a little drive.
thanks for all you do jerry Have a great fourth of july Bill

im sorry you have the wrong brakes,
how to mod 95 to 96, im clueless.

1,3,4,2 (slow but always sure way) Old hat , im sure......
TDC #1 set lash. (pulley at 0) yes rotor at 1 wire
turn crank 180deg CW, and #3 fires, if the lash is not there, it will burn the valves up fast.
turn crank 180 deg cw, for #4 fire and last
the turn crank 180deg cw, for #2 firing and lash.

which adjuster?, the nuts, screw or the follower plates and springs? fell of? im sure that was a big noise. ouch.
there are these tiny springs, that must not be missing, on the rocker plates.

Oh crapppppp, I didn't check for the spring, guess I will be taking it apart one more time and checking for the spring. no all that came off was the screw with the slot and the threaded rod, they were both together, lying on bottom of the head. I am going out now to pull valve cover gasket and check it out. I will do thorough search and comparison to others exhaust valves, making sure all components are there. I will check back here to see if you have responded before I put it back together.

hey jerry I have valve cover off and see nothing out of the ordinary. I did a compression check on all cyl's wot and they are all reading 190 so I think there was no damage done. I found problem with the brakes too, on the side that was rubbing, ididnt have the bottom of the brake in the keeper, duh, of course it is going to rub. I think i am going to put it back together and maybe take it for a spin.

Great news.
those rear brakes are very tricky with all those , funky lil parts.
head:
part 13 are the rocker shaft spacer springs, im sure they are there.
but I was talking, #11 , they can break or fall off and can cause them to fail on inake side.

Hey Jerry. Ya all of those springs were in there those are what I thought you were talking about. So verified everything was in its proper place. Son and I took it for a spin. I gave about 70 miles on it and no cels. It runs smooth and shifts excellent. I am getting state insp and front end alignment as I write this. So all is good on this side. I'm happy that the brake shoe was minor. I felt pretty stupid on the brake. Maybe I will pass that mistake on to my son. Haha. Still my fault tho. I didn't verify it was done correctly. Ok all I got for now. Thanks talk to you soon. Bill
