Just got a Tracker yesterday. 1995 tintop. 16 valve engine, manual transmission. A/C and power steering.

 I'm doing some of the suggested maintenance listed on the FixKick page (timing belt, water pump, inspect keyway on crank nose for bottom timing belt pulley, valve clearances etc).

I've got a parts list going at Rock Auto. Gates belts and water pump, Fel-Pro Seals, etc.

Replacing radiator, what's the best brand?

Can't find distributor seals.

I've got a Factory Service Manual on order, does it include parts diagrams? If not, where can I find parts diagrams?

The 17mm bolt for the bottom timing belt pulley broke free without a tremendous amount of force. However, the bolt backed out about half an inch and won't go any further. I don't want to use too much force and risk shearing the bolt off. I've used penetrating oil and heat, still no go. Any suggestions?

Great a 4door 5speed, (4wd?) 16valve, PS,AC. 1995
finding a RAD new, is just matter of luck,  only the 4door fits.  (buy over the counter is best, so if it is wrong easy swaps)

16v and must fit 4doors,  the rad uses body mounts and must fit. get A/T RAD the MT are harder to find and cost more but A/T FITS too. (and year)

factory manual for suzuki are rare, now.  GOES sold USED off ebay,  nobody sell them new after 25 years, not that I know.


ouch on the 17mm bolt, seems to me some one used gorilla impact gun rated at 250ft/lbs up and stripped it. see that , no fun that.
all can do besides all so far (heat ;lube) is run it in and out over and over and hope for stripping to get better.

or try to set it to spec 94ft./lbs and never touch it again if TDC is ok. (assumes will go back in)

the factory manual is not a parts list with  in fact there is no GM full list. (sold now, there was one at one time floating around)
the GM list was in 2 parts , one for engine, and one for body and all else
any Suzuki on line stores has the list but most delete facts if DISCONTINUED, and that sucks.  but the below is one good exception (calif suzuki)

8valve parts are NO GOOD. only 16v,
the distrib rings  i buy the real ones from suzuki then measure new rings with calipers then buy Viton rings from "oringusa.com" VT75 (sizing not easy)

the 16v  has a RING int the base housing. head to base , large.

and on the distrib shift too.

viton vt75 brown; all are metric, suzuki or GM(geo) and lots of sizes, I have 8v numbers but  not 16v sorry.   the Vitons will will last forever mostly.

last GM, most do do not do tracker older than 1998
but..
GM used to list all Trackers new and old under Chevy, but no more,  they deleted, all 97 and older. just looked, .

1992-95 4door 16v RADs from my SUZUKI EPC

177000-56b01 (MT)
177000-56B11 (AT)

both fit the 4door body.(only) and sized for 95HP 16v... no extra size for AC, all are AC ready.

Fixkick, thanks for the reply. Sorry, I should have been more specific. It’s a 2door, 5speed, 4wd. 

I’ll buy the radiator locally as suggested. 

The threads on the 17mm bolt (at least the part that is visible so far) appear to be okay. I’ll just keep at it and hope I don’t break the bolt.

"spectra-premium" used to make them and are best, just like gastanks from them , there gas tanks are plated inside ending rust, inside, if seen that. some are.

what is sold now and made where, IDK,
also some clone RADS sold are all brass no plastic at all, one more thing to consider. ( demand real photos if buying on line)

i think what SP, did is now has CU1864
this fits 92 to 1998, 16v 4door. they change the design to fit more year cars here.

16v is code #6 engine code GEO car VIN engine CODE> so you are 6

the SPORT rad is 1.9L (J18) engine avoid those and the X90 suzuki, too skip.

1995 JLX suzuki has 3 rads
the 4door has base mouniting pins , low, 18.50″ (others are 17-3/4)
buy with great care.

for sure mounting pin width, and tank to tank core size vertical.

i think the RAD pin mounts (wide= 4dr), spacing is 2 door 4 door only variance. , all else same 16v . 93-95
The car was made at CAMI, in the canada plant side by side, body trims different.
VIN 2C proves that, prefix.

Got the 17mm bolt for the bottom timing cog out and the cog itself. Keyway on crank nose looks good. Now just need part numbers for bolt, cog and woodruff key.

boy that is good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!


that bolt acts like huge very strong spring, and may be bad now. just something to consider, given the pain many folks have had here.

did you see signs of locktite on the thread.?

Yes, I was quite happy to see the keyway was in good shape. No sign of Loctite though I’ll use some when installing the new bolt.
