There was a bad spot on the bolt threads and the hole (about 2 threads worth), don’t know what caused it. Looks like it will clean up pretty easily with a 12mm x 1.25 thread chaser.

Having difficulty finding the bottom cog. Only place so far is an eBay listing from the Middle East. Still looking...

Found the cog (12631-53B00) on Suzukiautomotiveparts.com for $46 shipping included. 17mm bolt is $11. No woodruff key listed on this site, may find elsewhere.

Camshaft timing belt cog removed, locating pin and corresponding slot on cog look perfect. However, I do want to replace the bolt. Do you have a part number? Can’t find it.

Again, thanks for the help.

Searched that number, isn’t that the crankshaft bolt? I need the camshaft bolt.

there are 4 engines, 89-98?
not sure which you have,

G16 is the guess. and can be 8valve or 16v head,  but seems to be same on all G16
1991 and up.
cam bolt is 01550-12253  (my EPC clearly states, this) cam sprocket bolt.  even used on 2003 Grandvitara G16b( 16v) and Esteem G16 too.99-02)

suz says superseded by.? IDK

01550-1225A

the drawings at suzuki skip this bolt, not seen at all in the drawing there. adding to the drama.
