im not sure, but if the stroke is as long as the main shaft, yes. well 3/4 of that.

im no sure on the kent tool
the last page in the fsm calls out the rear bearing set tool,.
most of the tools only allow force to the bearing inner hub, this i good but any pipe can do that. these all bottom out , no magic gap as i call it.
only one tool is needed, that is the one that sets the magic gap.
the middle bearing press step
fitting bearing #8, with tool 18011. tool.
all other bearings, have a boss to land on, (a cake walk)

7a22 actual, FSM page.

with this too , missing, i used my feeler found it at .005
then on assembly, pressed it to .005 play, it run like dream.

bearing 8 is the only hard bearing in the box.

of coarse bearings off is easy, they are not to be used, so just yank them off, no matter. i used gear pullers. then the get the trash bin.
going on, i never hit them unless it's the inner bearing hub, never outer rim, or race cage sure.
i use pipe that fits good, even metal if using a press. any pipe can work that fits good.

The cheapest on ebay for my 2wd is $169.

It's interesting that the 4x4 kits are cheaper starting at $109.

what's going on? that is 40% difference.

"they charge what the market can bear." or toss a coin... or some my have koyo bearings and others , china no name bearing (600 cloners.at last count) ? or?
the best deal is just by the rings
then buy all new bearings from KOYO.
but we don't have the p/n list, (mine had koyo's inside)
before i bought mine, i asked them the bearing makers name... and got a reply but im sure that has changed.

the kit is pure convenience and time, nobody wants to take it down the write all bearing numbers down, then buy them all at bearing dot com. for best valve/name.

that is a neat idea but Its get more expensive if buying all the parts.

Just the sycros by themselves $75 (for 5) the cheapest I could find.
Rockauto sells the bearings but it also adds up.

Lets get smart here what is the difference between the 2wd and 4x4 kits? I just notice the seals are different. the sycros are the same what about the bearings? if there is difference how many of them? if only 1 or 2 you can get them separately.

Can this plan work? I just need to know what parts are different (bearings in particular)

the 2wd has different tail bearing and seal .
ok , yours is the 2wd.

the tail shaft is way longer,the 4wd seal is moved to the rear of the entention housing.
maybe there are more parts in the extension housing that is suppled, ive not not done a 2wd, so cant comment.
maybe a bushing in there.
there is 2wd Canadian, version that has simple reduction box for 2wd, behind the, 5speed. never seen one, but its in the parts list.



here is the funny 2wd box. used up north, the oddity.

I did some investigation.
This seller on ebay says the images are actually what you getting.

So I compare the pictures and could tell the the sychros are the same and I could find at least 4 bearing matching in each kit. the seals, only one looks the same 2 look different.(no big deal) Also the 4 bearings in 4x4 kit have the c rings on where in RWD kit just one is showing having it. the 4x4 kit also comes with one more bearing than RWD kit.

the seller says it will not work but I think is true only for the couple of seals. Also he says no Chinese bearings only koyo and nachi in pictures.

So I say $109 4x4 is much better than $169 RWD. and just get the seals from other place. Let somebody correct me if I am wrong.

I contacted this kit supplier and he said that my transmission can have the main bearing of 65mm or 72mm. And that I have to measure it before ordering. Is there a way to tell exactly what bearing I need? By transmission number or something. It sounds hideous not to be able to tell what you need.
