Spark plug wrench suggestion?
#1
I've never worked on these small engines with the plugs sunk down into the valve cover. Do you have any suggestions on wrenches that get the job done easily?

I see this one on Amazon.

It looks like one plug is underneath the air intake. I'm assuming you have to remove it to get to the plug?

any spark socket get it loose.
but use a rubber hose to pull it out or the snake grabber.
yes on intake but its a snap all that.

the ngk is BKR6ES
16mm (5/8")
any spark socket that size fits. im sure you have extensions and a universal joint is of no use.
with 4 valves this spot is only place it can go. dead center.

and a free ruler all in one day...... lol

the rubber inside all spark sockets are short lived.
so i use a 1/4 id hose extract them and to start the treads, never use tools to start spark plugs. its soft alum. head. and do not over torque them.

i have a mag extractor, and a grabber, all 3 work.

seen on my tuneup page

fixkick,

I see that there are two plugs shown in the fsm. BPR5ES and the BKR version you mention. Do you have a preference of one or the other. The BKR says its an ISO tip or something like that.

They are saying to use a plug gap of .032. I know that's wrong. I believe it's .028.

But, they no longer show the BPR plug. Just the BKR.
