Ok, I'll try that today, hopefully is just a valve and not a ring, that spark plug keeps getting oily

exhaust valve, thanks God, it could have been a lot worse. I am getting ITM RX9541 from Rockauto and the lapping compound and tools from Amazon.com, should I also replace the head gasket again?

nice video and nice work on cars engine, it looks really great.
and the tilting out of the exh, man, nice........ nice to know its just a bad valve, yes, new head gasket , sorry, it will peel up bad on extraction. crossing fingers ,valve seat is not gone. great posts. all.! btw some guys pull head with intake man attached. then work on bench, saving back pain. trouble with 16v , 2x cost for valve grind.

High heat paint does wonders but only if properly cured in oven. I tried several painting methods for moving engine parts and non lasted, only this one. I figured it has to look good even if it runs like crap.
I still have the first head gasket I replaced, that one was a multi-layer metal gasket that I replaced with a regular Felpro. I will get a new one anyway, I will not risk all that labor for $27 worth of gasket. I am tempted to redo all the valves since I'll have it taken apart but I am running low on resources now. Maybe I'll just check if they need resitting. I definitely want to try pulling the head with the intake manifold on, pulling the nuts and bolts attaching the intake manifold onto the head are certainly the hardest part of the job for me. If the actual seat (s) is gone I'll have to send it to the machine shop, last time he replaced a couple of valves in my Honda and charged me $20 per valve, I think his work and prices are reasonable.

the hot engine bay and engine will cure just about any paint , even too much.
it looks nice, and makes service more easy, seeing crack vastly more easy , no looking black parts in a black pit. yes, those bottom intake bolts are a royal PITA , i had my son do mine, his young skinny arms did that easy. some shops will discount work if you bring it in , ready to work. (valve springs off?) ask em' ask for just grind, with low margin checks on poppets. and new valves , proven bad. (cant grind em) $20 for both valve and seat is pretty good. dont forget exchange. for near $375 part of costs is the pressure checks. and if warped , a de-warp bake step, then a mill job. (clean cut) .005" typ. rockauto used to sell them from one of the top rebuilds ouch 375 is now $428 , no inflation right. MARshalls. this is turnkey. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframec...ttype=5304 on a shoe string? lap all the good ones grind the bad ones. and let fly, (your call) everyone has different goals. no judging by me... some cars just pull stumps... or worst a swam buggy.

Cylinder head is back from the machine shop, he did not have to replace valve (s), he said it was a pitted valve seat and he was able to fix it, he pressure tested it and measure for warp, everything checked out. I will be putting it back together during the course of this week. Exhaust manifold started cracking again on cylinder 4's tube, right where it was welded before, I will re-weld for the time being. I hope to fire it up by next weekend.

exh seat or intake?
just 1 seat. (make sure the injector cushion #1 is not leaking air, as this will burn the exh seat , from lean burning #1`.)
