Good morning my friend, I will try again today, now that I think about it, helper was cranking so I'm not sure these compression results were WOT. Then I will test spark again, the battery should be fully charged by the time I get home today.
Thanks!

ggod luck to you Gorky, im pulling for you , always.
block open the throttle with a screw driver a the throttle. (for sure all sparks out x4 and fuel and or spark disabled) no fire or shock dangers.
50% open is ok, 100% total max is not nessary, the engine must be allow to suck air, breath, or the test is useless, the test is also a BENCH mark, in that you are comparing to others and FSM.
if you do the test wrong, the readings can not be compare. nor see inter cylinder leaks?
this motor has very limited air with the throttle released. just the IAC, not much ther , like breathing through soft drink straw.
im sure your compression is, it was before, right? it wont change in a month, (i have fingers crossed for you)
you have no spark, but that is normal doing compression as we defeat fuel and spark.
yo have the FI fuse pulled?
off my compression page
"Starting (no pun) in year 1996 the FI fuse is now in the right fender fuse box, do not pull the IG-coil fuse or the key starting path dies."
the trick is to kill spark or fuel or both but not the starter cranking key wire.
on all 96 the FI pulled kills Main relay which kills (not hurt) the ECU. IG coil runs the spark but the ECU is dead now and there will not be spark or injections of any kind.
FI also kills the Fuel pump.
the prevents the fuel from flying outspark hole land on ignition parts and BOOM a huge fire. most cars today can even jump the spark from end of wire to you are anything near buy.
The FI fuse is on the right Fender box ,fuse #7 marked FI.
quote my page (FI pulled)

diff years , diffr fuses. sorry, above is 96-98

Ok bad news (of course)
I have spark, good spark, however compression test with fuse FI pulled out, all spark plugs off and WOT, 60, 170, 160, 150, test repeated twice, same result both times. Put a teaspoon of oil into cylider one, compression went from 60 to 80. Is it tear down time?
Is it normal to get a constant buzzing sound in the cabin when fuse FI is pulled out?

check lash on #1 now.
at TDC , firing #1 are the gaps loose?
it is the valve.
but check lash, hope is always a friend.
buzzing, it might be. it's and un natural state. mybe it thinks the HL are on, or key inserted ? if its the seat belt buzzer crying , its just confused.
it wont be main or fuel pump relay chattering, as its dead.
crossing fingers for you.
joking
the evil buzzer box, knows your close to fixing all the problems, thworting all its attempts at damage.( sick)
i find stabbing it with ice pick works, like in horror movies, LOL

Lol, I'll check valve lash tomorrow, hopefully it's just that. I'm really crossing my fingers, I was looking forward to having fun with my tracker in the snow this winter, I even got all the factory suspension parts to leave the low rider look behind. I've got a $100 harbor freight gift card for my birthday and a coupon for a $100 engine crane so I have to find out soon because the coupon expires at the end of this month.

4 valves on #1 , may be 1 is not adjusted right.
put it at TDC , see cam lobes go to back side of rocker (loose) and if all 4 valves #1 are loose with lash , then one is burned. sorry if true.
Pulley TDC mark is for both #1 and #4 , so watch valve action on those cylinders.

nice video and clear
E mark on cam sprocket at 6-oclock
cams are on back side, clear
and it is gapped.
im so sorry , that is bad exhaust valve, i bet.
make sure no broken valve springs, here the big ones in valve stems
never know, , one beaks and you luck out.or anything looking funny those 4 valves on #1
if i did pull head, id do it cam first to get a better look at valves. im never too quick to condemn valve poppets (actual)
do not forget the cam caps and head are staged up and down using a differant older
good luck to you .

so just to be clear, are all 4 valves sealed at this position? if so, hooking up compressed air to cylinder 1's spark plug hole would tell me where the leak is (exhaust, intake, rings, or head gasket)?

yes ,they are sealed ,those 4 lash gaps assure this.
yes, compress air can in fact reveal the leak point, intake side or exh, side.
usually it's the exhaust side.
