What Distributor?

Hi FixKick,

I have a 16v engine from a 95 Suzuki Sidekick that I got from the local pull and save which I rebuilt and will be putting in my samurai. I need a distributor for it. I see I have the option of either a .526" or .475" rotor. How do I determine which is needed?

keep in mind, most stores can not decode your vin ( the body code yes, like JX, or JS, but most dont even try)
the 8v is vin 0
the 16v is vin 0 (engine code)
so they cant tell you what fits your engine,
the 8v and 16v in 1995 both used the same rotor. until 1996 , only 16v sold and new distributor and new rotor.

16v- 1992 to 1995 (USA) rotor for 16v is suzuki 33310-60c30 (revised to C31...) 8v same p/n

i think the .526" or .475
is caused by them not knowing difference from 92-95 and 96-98 rotors.
and i dont remember which shaft diameter matches which distributor
so buy from store that dont ask this question.. IMO (most dont,)

I looked on RockAuto for a distributor for a 95 Suzuki Sidekick. Using the factory Suzuki part # 3310058B10, I see that Cardone lists two distributors with that part #. One with the .526 rotor cam and one with .475 rotor cam. They are the only brand that lists the factory part number. And looking at Napa I see they list both as well. So am confused. I guess if I buy a distributor that come with the rotor then I don't have to worry?

there is only 1 1995 distributor. listed on the suzuki parts cat, just one and they do change the number for any revisions...

but why 2? how confusing,
maybe its a Canadian version? no , i looked.
there is only one Dizzy 58B10 use in USA. but world wide there are many distribs. used, even on 16v like 3 or for. (Spain made santana's, and Mygar hungray. and others)

ive no idea at all how many markets, that cardone sells to at all. USA and canada, Puetro Rico? and? market 03 fed, 32calf, 28 is canada, and 60 is PR.
for sure the distrib, must match your ECU. that is what matters, in our 2 markets, calif and fed

the B10 dizzy is just one part. and is the right part. with C31 rotor.(superceeds C30 )
if they had 2 dizzy there would be 58B20 or b30.... too bad they do not use the or state the real suzuki number, ours is B10. and is one size.
if i had the true number i can scan it and tell you what country it is for...... easy.

if you look on line at suzuki it show just one ID #3 (rotor) no others. no choices.
and one 58B10 distrib, (and one for the 8v)
ive heard this before, the shaft diameter issues, and no one i know can figure it.... it's a "mystery"
