1.8 into 2.0
#1
I have acquired quite a fleet of 99/00 trackers. So of course all the engines are junk. Then i got a 98 sidekick with m.t.
question being, looking at these 2 they look the same except for intake. In looking around they share timing components, cylinder head has same casting.
So can i use the block and head and put it in a tracker.??
/thanks guys.

no, i want to go the other way. have a rust free tracker, bad engine. want to put the 1.8 sidekick in it.
if i use 2.0 intake, will that swap work?
thanks

Quote:(edited)) have nice 99/2000 trackers dead motors. J20.
so i have running 1998 Sidekick (SPORTS) J18, but is rust bucket , (A sport is a wide frame car same os the 99s+)
so swap the long blocks, whats hard? there? taller head that's it. the stock 99/00 EFI will have no issues, with 200cc loss. like having a throttle stop.

you are right the look the same,
they mostly are, but j18 is shorter stroke, engine, same basic engine, (form factor, or family) same mounts.
