Temperature Sensor Issue or Throttle body ???

(03-14-2020, 07:15 AM)3Waggintails Wrote: I will do my best to provide the information:

1.  Yes appears only hot engine at operating temperature.  Best I can describe is that I will be cruising at a speed and if accelerate (more foot pressure on pedal) it will "bog" but recover with more pressure.  OR I have noticed that if I let pressure off accelerator pedal (instead of braking to slow down or drop speed) it will bog but recover with pressure on gas pedal.  I can't say it happens on hills.  I do have some inclining roads but does on flat for sure.  Always recovers with more foot pressure on pedal.  Never stalled and never died.

2.  My upstream 02 sensor was not removeable from exhaust manifold.  Work done by expierenced, reputable exhaust shop.  They tried everything.  So they had to create a BUNG hole in the down pipe before the CAT to put the Upstream 02 in.  They did not take shield off exhaust manifold but mentioned no leaks and I hear no exhaust manifold leak/sound either but doesnt mean not cracked I guess.  The old 02 is still in the manifold with wires cut - keeping hole plugged.

3.  What is SMP?  I am aware of horror photos of TPS or any other parts that are strictly representation - not actual part.  MY TPS is huge.  I will do my best to upload pics of mine and what I was given at Advance which is actually a Mikuni TPS.

Dang! Says files are too large to upload....Now what?  Is there a way to email you are something otherwise to send them?  I have comparison of my TPS and what is "supposed" to be my TPS.

Was able to get one reduced and uploaded.  Mine is on the right the BIG one.  One on left is what "supposed to be based on my year, etc and VIN.

BTW they removed intake manifold and cleaned all passages, etc new intake gaskets etc. but think I said that in new post.

SMP is the largest maker of aftermarket sensors, USA.  they are HUGE and GOOD..

the sensor on the right,  is off 92, to 1995, G16B engines,
so no we know your car has the wrong TB, throttle body, ,

engine swaps and or different manifold or swapped wrong Throttle body from 95 or early..

the engine on this care has serial number lower left (drivers )side,  at the bell to engine flange.
marked like this..
G16Lxxxxxx    L is year,L letter,  T  is 1996 ,
the web site is down now.. so cant get you photo of engine serial locations nor the Letter codes.  but lower code than T is wrong  that is for sure.
if you the manifold is wrong or TB wrong that kills  EGR dead.
no photos of top of your engine makes this hard , resize photo to say 1200 pixels wide, is good,  6000 bad,  see?

Like I suspected,  car is 96 + but not the engine,  all this I can see standing there looking in 5min flat, all that. right or wrong,  vast are wrong this old .
A 95 TB will block the port exh.. EGR closed,  making EGR dead.  sure as falling off a long;

the engine S/N is here ,see "T" that means 1996  (97 =V ,98=W,  95="S")
I suspect the car has right engine block if older the CKP crank sensor is missing and the DTC error pops and ever goes away, a photo of your TB would really help. (top?)

See part 50 below?  that pipe is on your engine, if there this is the correct engine, and My guess is the TB is 1992-5,
if tube 50 is present EGR will work.. if not , not...!! , not easy,  and more parts will be missing, if not,

#2 below changed in 1996.  nobody knows why, they just DID. and must be calibrated to work right,  (auto calibration not invented yet in PCM)

there are only two TPS sensors on 16valve G16,   just 2,  early and late, your car should have had LATE 96+ but is not.
the newer TPS was shrunk to a 31mm base size,  a huge difference.

the reason I mentioned SMP is because there catalogs are ONLINE, and we can see right parts and wrong parts, clear as day.
those other parts you show have no catalogs, they are import parts, and is trust me, this part fits pain.  (try them all)
rockauto has them

so does NAPA

CRB 229354    Echlin Fuel System , has no public catalogs,,
  Part # :
CRB 260014 ( looks like the smaller sensor.)

only year  , shows what is right part the VIN code for engine is #2 for all G16s on this car, so year , is the only way to get it right, sometimes this fails , like the X90 does.

in prefect world we lay the part old on the counter, the clerk goes back and brings out both parts, and one is a match clear as day matched with smaller 31mm base for sure
i guess you car has old TB and wide base, (best I can tell far away)

your symptoms are good,  WOT works.  this tells me fuel pressure is not low, and bogging from that (gross power loss WOT not present, SEE?)
that means yes, on TPS

TPS adds short time (short) time Enrich mode, at the TIP in (fast) of the right foot, that is its #1 job (and a idle switch too)

TPS can be this,  but  that will not fix,  HARD FAILED CLOSE LOOP ERROR  no way.  so you have 2 problems not one..

seems car had many dead sensors,  IAT< ECT both  bad, makes EFI go nuts (electronic fuel injection) for sure ECT , this is PRIME sensor
then the wrecked 02 sensor that too makes, CLOSED LOOP GO DEAD,
if there are exhaust leaks in the Exhaust manifold that leak sucks air INTO the same, (after each and ever exhaust PUTT and make any 02 GO NUTS (means reads gross lean)

the readiness status  fails for all that,  and more.  EGR,

1997 G16b should have the smaller TPS sensor, somehow that is wrong on your car.

NTK TH0243 (a division of NGK spark plugs , famous)
1997 listed as this, and B10 coded, susuki, means 96-98 fit

the 2 real parts are
The correct P/N for the Suzuki 16v is: 13420-58B00 92-95′ USA only. wide base TPS body

The correct P/N for the Suzuki 16v is: 13420-58B10 96-98′ USA only narrow base TPS body

SMP catalog, shows  (B10 means last 3 years) ending 1998

the official suzuki parts catalog shows B10, for 97 clear as daY
SUZUKI IS NOW UP TO 336 BUCKS, NOW.

A NEW HIGH WATER MARK, AND IF BOUGHT From them and no fit, ooops.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-SENSOR-T...3833969652

the other way to get this wrong is someone put GEO tracker engine or parts, in this SUZUKI AND  i can tell you for a fact GEM (GEO) used the older sensors longer into the 1996 year for sure and maybe 1997 too,
the TB and sensor match and are not the same nor will fit MIXED UP  period..

the 2 changes are,  old is taller,  new very short
old has wide ring base, new is way more smaller ring at 31mm

the old sensor is here , normally this will never fit any suzuki 96-98.   it is for 92-95 only USA spec car this is B00 sensor,

How to post photos, many camera's now have photos the size is near 35 feet wide?   RV sized?
so shrink them , to 1200pixels wide

w10,  click start  PAINT< click resize , done, it is that easy..

good luck to you!
