Shifter Extension replacement parts
#1
Howdy! I have a 90 tracker 4x4 manual, and i'm trying, and failing to find replacement parts for the shift extension. The broken piece i am trying to replace is part #26 in the diagram of the shift extension found in your FAQ page. The finger snapped off where it sits in the shift forks. Someone had welded it in the past and it re-broke just above the weld (cast metal, break expected there). Short of buying an entire used tranny, does anyone know where i could find just the shift rail finger? or the entire shift extension mechanism?
Im going to attempt to salvage this one when i find time, by drilling out old pin, and welding in a hardened bolt to get by.

I paid $300 for the tracker, and we use it just around the farm, so any suggestions are open, it can be far from perfect.

Thanks for your time and Input!

that is the extension fork.
find a bad tranny (somewhere), and id bet that part is still good inside extension housing..
same on 2wd and 4wd box.

its drop forged and heat treated (the steel equiv. to diamonds)
if welded on , this anneals the metal and , that ends the deal.

Thanks a ton for the Reply! Part is already on the way

Had to order a new clutch cable as well. went with the Beck/Arnley 66"
that's what put me in the position of a broken extension fork in the first place Rolleyes

its in the deep warehouse, , is car in usa, or canada? even suzuki shut down in canada too. most dealers are gone. now after chapter 11. they dont sell cars now. ,in all of N.America.

suzuki runs 3 (did) huge warehouses. and most parts for this old car are never stocked local, and with them chapter 11, most parts will be deep.
did you try all dealers.?

use my link for trademotion,?

https://www.google.com/webhp#q=trademoti...+car+parts

these are the only suzuki left. here.

this is our fate, if you own a suzuki car, long waits for parts. (ones not made aftermarket)

did you ask them to check all warehouses.
back before, the chapter 11 they could even check other dealers for parts, local. but i bet thats over now.
i did that to buy the last outside window seal on earth,

Im located in the midwest US. The message didnt say it was unavailable luckly, but it did state it would take a little longer to ship. I used your suggested source of suzukicarparts.com
My payment seems to have went through a Kia parts source. I wonder if they house some of the leftover suzuki parts

The do have a ware house, and most times it takes 3 days from there to the dealer.
then from them to you. it can take 10 days easy if unlucking
and it is stocked, but not at kia.
(they might have new car parts there, most people never have dealers fix, 20 year old cars.)
im glad they have it, , very very lucky that, i played heck getting a new input shaft to my 5speed, (found one 3000 miles away new, in and old dealer)
