Fixkick,
I noticed tonight while backing up that my 95 tracker has no reverse white lights. Is this due to having a MT or are they burned out?

They should have it regardless of transmission type. Hopefully just burned bulbs. If not check and line the backup light switch.

both tranny have a back switch
a/t PRNLD switch right side of box.
m/t, on top front section. see gallery photos. transmissions.
the shift rail moves to reverse and hits the switch, it closes and 12vdc, is sent to both lamps in the rear.

Changed bulbs and no joy. Need to look at switch. Is there an adjustment for the switch? Or, is it typically found bad? Replacement switch available?

in a spot very hard to reach.
pull the connector, key on, short the body side connector side, and rev. lamps must glow, if not, leave the switch be and find the open wire fred from here.

the 3speed has a side mounted PRNDL switch, if the input is 12vdc is good and the R pin is dead. the switch is bad. 12vdc ,good, 0v bad, or If like 3- 6v the reverse feed is shorted.
most can be dismounted and cleaned.
item 18 here
see page 6 for schematic of it

i think any store sells this, for any 3speed,
did you look at rockauto?
your suz. pn is correct for 4wd , 3sp.. 91 to 95.

I used rockauto for the research (additional part numbers, pics) then found it elsewhere for $60 w/fedex overnight. Was NOT able to get the connectors to disconnect on the old one without tearing off the top of the engine to get access. So I spliced the new one in, soldered it, shrink wrapped it and put it on. All is well. Other than it needs to be adjusted a little, as the reverse lights only illuminate at one far end of the shifter stroke. Its needs to come on in its natural resting spot. I appreciate this thread, really helped.
