Found an inexpensive replacement radiator
#1
My old radiator started weeping and then leaking in two spots last week. I ordered a radiator from Amazon after measuring and checking specs the best I could. This is the one I purchased http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0073ME..._at_prodpg with shipping it cost $59.94 from Shephard Automotive

It arrived yesterday and fit perfectly The radiator has the fittings for the auto trans lines to the oil cooler built into the radiator. For the manual transmission you just ignore them. You will need a radiator cap, the original metal bolt clamps from the top corners, and the rubber cushions at the bottom mount points. The plastic fan shroud mounted without any problems too!

The only issue is the old radiator cap didn't fit which I was warned about before ordering. I open up the bottom tabs on the old cap so I could do a quick road test and it worked. Now I'm off to the local parts store to find a new radiator cap.

Quick update.

Original OEM radiator cap will not fit. Shepherd auto replied to my question and said a Stant #11233 would fit. My local auto part store didn't carry this brand but used the info to cross reference to a Murray #7516 brand cap which fit perfectly. These caps fit a 93 Geo Storm for help in looking up this part.

Glad to help! Owning Tracker is getting to be similar to a motorcycle I owned 15 years ago an MZ Skorpion. Right never heard of it so you had to be creative to get the right parts. Luckily the motor was Yamaha design so motor parts were easy.

Question - Does the coolant system need to be bleed? I've had some motorcycles which needed to be bleed after drain & fill of the coolant.

Thanks!

I should note that the radiator is avaliable directly from Shepherd Auto parts if you don't have an Amazon account. This should be a link to the one I purchased http://www.shepherdautoparts.com/autopar...fCog==.htm

Interesting there's more details on the Amazon listing than on the direct company website.
