I've inspect everything an found no spark from the plug. Had no means to test cam angle sensor but I had another so I swaps them an no change. Can anyone help me out.
Thanks in advance
1999 USA car, grand vitara ? or not grand.???
alll fuses good, FI fuse, ig-coil and dome? 3 fuse all good, must;
so the coil is dead spark coil? 1999 is a transition year, some have distrib othere 2 or 4 COP coils. what is yours? most have 2 copS, With wasted spark,
if have 2 COPS learn that if one spark wire is open you just lost 2 cylinder and will not run so check all for cop HV sparks for loss or you will be angry barking up wrong tree.
wasted spark puts to spark plugs in series, like old Christmas tree lights (1 dead all do)
on all 4 cylinders.?
not just 1, and ever replace the cam belt ever
look in the oil fill hole at cam turns, or rotor on distributor turns.
it must turn, cranked (2 maN TEST) or the belt failed. tBELT. CAM.
use
An OBD2 scan tool, any and see if you get CODE DTC
p03xx codes. bingo. what code is it?, crank for 5 to 10 full seconds release key not off let tool tell you why spark is bad. (errors) DTC errors. are first, besides spark test done the right way. and fuses.
lost/bad grounds to engine or distrib OR all engine bay grounds good. many there are. all must be good
was engine pulled, or only the 4 speed A/T?
the transmission never stops spark. ever,
but does stop cranking easy with PRNDL switch bad or forgot to plug it in.
Id have to know how tranny was pulled. as that tells me what you disconnected.
that is all I can do blind, can not see top of engine to see what market you are in, 50 markets sold and not the same. USA is 2, calif and FED.
the cops old have bad boots and crack and carbon track and fail hard, this is common, $15 each par and new HV wires best too. pays back in gas savings.
