There used to be a basic wiring diagram on wiring up the Vitara 1.6L 16V engine, but I can't find it now. The basic diagram just to make the engine run.

still there , in the schematics page (to run)
what year, 1992 to 1998 , or way newer rest of world. some G16s run up beyond 2000 year. the 92 is here. click 92 giant here http://www.fixkick.com/schematics-run.html im assuming USA cars,

I checked that page and I can't see it there :/
It's for a 1997 UK model which had the fully electric EGR. I think the earlier ones had only one wire to the EGR. This one has six. Pretty sure all the 16V UK motors after around 1997 were all the same with fully electric EGR and immobiliser fitted.
we dont have the motorized G16b EGR until 1999 (unless 1996-98 J18 engines)
there are many engine types sold in europe. G16 all our books in usa and all 3 major online, here, all cover USA cars only. do you need just EGR info? is that it. here is how ours work. http://www.fixkick.com/EGR-Gen4.html id get a ebay.uk fsm for the suzuki. vitara. 1997 here is the USA official site there are no 97 vitara here. https://suzukipitstopplus.com/Category/3...nuals.aspx they are sidekicks on this side of pond or trackers.

Soz about delay in answering. I want to install the engine into a buggy. I have the ECU that came with the engine but not the wiring loom. Also I want a custom wiring loom so that it's simple, light and fits well into the buggy.
Will the FSM include a wiring diagram to make the engine run on the original ECU? Edit: Corrected CDI to ECU, soz, used to work with bikes that had CDI's.
97UK G16B with motor driven EGR.
the schematic is a all you need. but ive no idea what ECU you have. (part numbers) be advised, the ECU will just need basic wiring to sensors and actuators to run but the CMP sensor will need coax cable. not just a simple wire. and if CKP, same, 10x more need for CKP, with no noise on the line.. you can wire it all with 18 Gage wire. (convert to mm size) the the coax. use any you find. is it weight that makes you shy away from a real harness? if so the unwarp the stock harness and take out what you want. 10x more easy . that. and works every time. do to the special wiring on some sensors and noise. do you have the body tag , still. the VIN tag on fire wall next to battery showing all those codes? the first step on working any car, is to ID it. what is it and most important MARKET codes. see code 24 here. what is your code 24? UK market 02, and i have the parts list for 02, and can tell you the ECU that fits this engine, and all sensors.etc. just one example, and shows how to decode each letter. http://www.fixkick.com/specs/Body-TAGS/bodytag.html what gear box.? M/T or A/T (its m/t i see now by ecu p/n) im sure 4wd. the key parts to match, well with one ECU in hand. Does this ECU , have the Immobilizer option, your is listed as such. ECU needs:. correct ECT, IAT,EGR,MAF and Distributor. (you could leave off the EGR and let P04xx DTC's spit out for ever, id not as the EGR cools the exhaust valves.) about have the other cars (i think yours is E22 German ) have the wrong mAF (or VAF) or wrong Distributor, there are 2 engines used, for 16v in Europe that year, type 4 and type 5, and the above parts are different. (sensors and all)

Hey Kickfix.
The ECU part number is 33920-71EED. I've found a manual with wiring diagram for the stepper EGR engine: http://www.rhinoman.org/manuals/vitara/99501_61A20.pdf so hopefully this will give me what I need. I don't know the market code for the donor car that the engine came from. The car is crushed now. I know it was a 1996 LWB auto JLX SE. I could ask Suzuki to help, I have the donor car VIN number. Ignore my comment on CDI. It was a slip of my tongue. I meant to say ECU, I get the two mixed up. Ignore. I am using the original ECU. Coax cable no problem. I don't really want to use the factory harness, it has extra wires, wrong length. If the project becomes too difficult then I can try a factory harness. I have a harness and matching ECU from a 1997 stepper EGR Vitara which might work. I will check later if the ECU is the same as the one that came with my new engine.
you will still need the harness connectors. and a way to recover those used pins? suzuki dont sell the connectors or pin kits. now. (well, not here)
ah, it's a 4 door (LWB) or 5 as they say in Europe. w/long harnesses. and ECU tuned for heavy car. (ok) that p/n is no good. and zero hits in the database. 71ED0 ? the last digit is a zero or a one, (usually) and never ever a letter. the ED0, btw has and immoblizer. some ECU look like this (a picture helps) 71ED[x]) the box ad the end can be blank, (means zero) or has 1 in the box or 2, etc. for revisions, in then end, you need to make the ECU happy (the computer logic, inside) not only this , but there are 3 Suzuki's there, PLants. Suzuki, Santana Spain and Magyar in Hungary. (and expects a correct distributor and correct maf to run) some use hot wire MAF others use the plunger air meter (var.resistor type). (and are very different in scaling inside ECU) i think i found the ECU. read all 28 in the book. it's the last SE416- 28th one, listed. 77EE0 (your D is a zero , right?) and is marked 22 , Germany and was made in Magyar and Spain. this ecu needs a 77E00 EGR (same as our J18/20s use) (motor driven) and needs 58B00 MAF (hot wire maf ,same as all usa used and other markets, (expensive part) and last the distributor. is 85C00, ive never seen one , but that number is unique. the Database shows, 12 markets used, UK ,etc. mostly on Santana's and all E22 German SE416's (and never used here, in USA) all those parts must match. For the ECU to work. (at least) 58b00 injectors, im sure that matches. the 33920-71ee0 , on 13 markets shows it needs and immoblizer connected and working. but lists vin starting dates, that we dont have. vin V0115000~ up German E22. it fits the manual transmission. im sure the ECU has markings to show that. but never seen one nor the codes for German ECU. you want an IMMO ECU? the easy stuff is, injectors wiring, ECT, IAT, TPS. EGR./ MAF., only the Distributor needs careful care. (output wire coax) The CMP signals need to be clean and free of noise. (it's a hall sensor In Distr. and is not hard to get working) our 96+ up have CKP sensors, that are hard to get working...(non hall, coil type)\ Hope scans of the suzuki data. help you. cheers. id get a harness, and cut it down. after all its just wire and connectors, how would you fake those rare connectors?
