if the ecu fails the 4 wire bench test
its a bad ECU

the bench test. is easy.
lacking connectors, ( have the proper jig as you can see in my photos)
lacking that.
only tiny what are called ball clips work
best is from inside ECU, at the 90 degree pins. seen there.
the green connector with large pins are the power pins. (and big outputs)

I dont have 90s book. so... no drawing of the connectors, for PIN ID (identification)
but the schematic is clear, once pins are ID'd, seen hear.
do you have an LED, and a , 12vdc power supply ?

the below is OUR ecu, there are over 50 ECUs used world wide, so........ mostly SMOG differences but , some are near same, 60a are near.

our 60a ecu.

B2 and B3 are ground. see that? to the minus power, of battery or a power pack, 12vdc, 2 to 5amps rated. or more. fused to 5amps. max.
B1 and B7 is power, 12vdc. +
B13 (CEL) to a LED (minus cathod side here LED then Plus LED pin anode and then a series resistor to 12vdc + supply (500ohm resistor)
B13 to a lamp rated at 0.1amps or less. never more !@!!! to 12vdc + pin.

turn on power,
CEL glows.
ground pin A15 (diag pin) CEL must flash or the ecu is BAD.

end test.

the outside numbers matter, not the secret inside number.
the outside matters
is your car 2doors. , or 4
2wd or 4
what transmission,??
all these facts matter, for ECU, (and year)

first off, tell what car you have.
like this
1990 Vitara, 2door, 4wd, 5speed, with 60Axx ecu.??????????
then tell what other ECU you have, out side not inside, the outside sticker tells you what it is, (suzuiki numbers only)
60axx the xx changes, by many important things. or report exactly what car it came out of, for sure the transmission.

ok lets start over
My vin number is JSAETA01V00108621,Suzuki made in Japan.

Code 25 for Holland.

ECU number 33920-60A70 (real suzuki numers)
E2T40671 (secret Mitsubish codes)
9316B (my guess, this is version numbers all a secret from Mistsubishi, under contract (secret) via Suzuki.

market 25 is clear
but what car is this ,you never said what car you driveing
90 G16a SE416 Vitara, doors? 2 or 4, ,2wd or 4wd, what transmission the 5 speed? manual stick? (0r automatic 3 or 4 speed)

you never photoed your body tag
the tag tell everyone what the car came with new.

that FAE number tell me that.

see this, see those suzuki codes, ? the ecu must match this too,. I have the book on this too. ecu numbers all.(outside numbers never inside ECU)
http://www.fixkick.com/specs/Body-TAGS/bodytag.html

then tell outer sticker on spare ECU
and better what car did it come from this spare ECU, tell full spec, on car, this matters the most.
it must be a 60axx ecu, no others work on your car.

the xx means what smog car uses, and what transmission and weight class. and if 2wd or 4wd. (matters)

using European vin decoder
found out its 2doors, (called 3 doors in Europe)
your Vin shows, car is metal body, not canvas top convertible.
and is 5speed stick shift (good, as both ecu work on stick)
tag code, FAE or FAK body, then code 62,
but is car 4wd or not?
ECU:for this type 1 , calls Europe car.
the 60a70 is, mt , and is E22 German smog rated
the 60a80 a/t auto. (may work in m/t ok0
the 60a32, is m/t and is for markets e18/39) Switzerland / Austria )

my guess is all 3 can work in your 5speed car, and the parts list for this year, does not mention 2wd/4wd differences.

4wd matters on many cars, due to , its shuts down (or changes), ABS , or cruise, or shuts off , A/T trans clutch lockup or shots off overdrive.
none do you have.
