A/T 4speed fails, car wont move until hot.
Good day fix. Video of manual mode test drive is being uploaded. Will send link soon. Went to A/T repair shop and they gave me 1,300 quote. They drove her in normal mode and went thru the gear selector and determined it was bad. I then did video after that and thats the one Im sending to you.

Cheers!!

Here you go sir. Let me know what you can make off this video. I did put some remarks at certain points in the vid timeline so you could have a reference of what I was doing.
Notice that speed never went more than 25mph.

Again thanks!!

seems it is bad, sorry to hear that. wish it was , just weak engine and funky TV cable.. but the manual test fails....
looks like leak on the drive side of the main selector valve.
it is a nice box.
they even had them on mini vans way larger that this car.
Sorento 3.5L and Montero 3L, and 4 runners, and land cruisers, up to 4.2L engine. it's no weakling, like the 3sp is.
it is designed for larger weight cars and more HP, (torque)

newer fsm added, just the chapter on A44DE box.

All this was expected, like you said. Early symptoms were just a prelude of what was coming. Is just that it comes in a real tight budget moment. 20yrs plus of neglected care (my dad did not know any better and me neither when I inherited her in 2008). But heck what it is, it is, fate wins like you say. Ill keep you posted. For sure, once tranny is repaired (if done the right way) my little truck should be more fun to drive.

Gracias por todo!!!!

it's and old car, all old cars with old seals, all go bad, it not abnormal. a-typical.
( take it apart and watch the seals turn to gram crackers as you touch them...) a learning experience. (or old and hard, )
no original factory cheap seal used, there runs at 250F temps for 20 years and not fail.
unless they are all upgraded to Viton, or other top performing seals.

here is the technology on some seals
some didnt exist 20 years ago ,but if did? they were way too expensive..

most seals in car are. i think ?
BUNA-N (NBR) NITRILE

dirt cheap and low performance!

compared to this
FKM Viton® (GLT) Fluorocarbon -50 to 437f rated, but not sold in all metric sizes... I could not find 55.5mm fore example.

Tranny gutted. I like the guy, seems very honest. Called me today as I asked him, to let me know when tranny was out and disassembled so I could take pictures of it and talk to me about what parts to get. Hope fully sometime next week shell be out.

Here some pics.

Look at the filter. Just like you said. After 1 and half DIY flushes crap finally came loose. He told me that thats why tranny was so clean inside. Clutch disks were very worn.

Ill keep you posted.

Cheers!!
