#1
Big Grin hello i have a 96 tracker with speedo trouble pretty sure from what i am reading it is the cup, my needle has twisted off . my question is can i take the reed switch and the cable hook up and put in a 96 with auto transmission or is the gearing in the head different and will send funny signal to the ecu?Mine is five speed ,4x4,two door,ac,1.6.L? i bought the auto speedo off of flea bay and the numbers on the back do not match.Got excited when isaw it did not have but 63000.did not see the back of it my bad and the speedo hook up was broke off.

yes the cup bearing ,wrecks then wrecks the needle bad.
not sure your end goal there. 9 some want it all, others only need VSS working, heck with needle, other just want the noise to stop.
but yes, you can mix heads , by in 1 Generation , 96 -98 is yours.
there are lots of lamps you may need or not need,
but what really matters are connector count and there pin counts
the end of cable has plastic gears they match axles.

sorry you got ripped
you cant swap internal head guts (2 to 4doors), ive had to mix up to 3 to get one perfect head. But must have doors correct.
on many the missing lamps are there, wired, but need a lamp twist socket only
have you seen my head matrix tables?
wish you had posted both head bottom tags? but if GM tags, oops. i cant do those. only if head has real suzuki tag. some do.

lots of clear choices here

i have exploded parts list drawing on all,
i have steps to swap parts
i looked now
the 2door and 4door meters are different
you need a 2door head
the correct head is
34100- prefix
suffix
-68ab0 no ABS
-68aa0 ABS
