Man! I have been eyeing one of those Calmini headers for a while now, just gotta work up the courage to spend the $300 Sad((

Last night I started working on the driver's side window regulator because I tried cranking down the window two days ago and it went no where. I finished fixing it today, noooot a fun job!, took a me a couple of hours to figure how the cables work. Once you understand how it works is not as hard as it looks. My neighbor owns a windshield/glass business, he showed me to lub not only the cranking and sliding mechanism but also the rubber channels on the sides, makes a huuuge difference on how smooth it goes up and down.

This weekend I taking off those cut springs that came in the car and putting on new shocks (all 4) and the stock springs that I bought from HWY 83 Suzuki Salvage online (those guys are GREAT!!! veeery helpful and reasonable prices)

Once the car gets back up to stock height I can go and get the 235/75/15's for it (right now I have 225/50/15's on 15x8 aftermarket rims), hopefully I find used ones in good condition and at a good price, if not I may have to get the $75 a piece Wranglers from Amazon. Also bought camber bolts and strut mounts from rockauto.

I figure after this is done, it will be much easier for me to get underneath and look around and diagnose the exhaust system. I made up the hose/pipe hearing tool just now, the wife is looking at me with a weird face, she must think I'm loosing it, =D

Best way to safe gas on a trip is to not go! LOL <--- First time I hear from this guy, I can watch him all day long, he's too funny.

So, I couldn't do all that work I mentioned since I have everything except the strut mounts and I don't want to do all this twice. So I moved onto looking at the exhaust issue. Had my handy uncle hold the rag in the tail pipe, POW! at least 5 pin hole size leaks between the downpipe and the CAT. I guess that settles it, I'm no welder.

Took all that down and re-welded on bench. After messing around with the wire on the welder getting stuck, it seems like I finally got it. I put it back twice and tested for leaks, had to take it down to get a couple more.

So that's that, exactly what you suspected, exhaust leaks. All left to do now is to reset ECU tomorrow and drive it a lot to see what other codes come on.

Also put some dielectric grease on my new spark plug boots. Checked spark plugs, they look nice and brown, non seem to be fouling.

While down there I saw more corrosion on the actual muffler. first I though it was the factory hole where they are supposed to drain water from (saw it dripping). Taking a closer look I realized it was a hole from corrosion. I put epoxy on it since it was so small as a temporary fix.

Priced new exhaust (without manifold):

Downpipe from eBay (dynabill here confirmed it fits well) $65
CAT from rockauto $206.89 (just noticed all the different notes everywhere saying "not legal in CA and NY" Sad)
Muffler from rockauto $48.79

Total= $320.68+shipping

and my wife makes me..go..... even more funny!
welding in place? no that takes skill.. i can do stitch welds but its not pretty. TIG is best but slow.

i think NY will not look with eye balls, at the cat, only that 420, are missing, etc. and the cat monitor is clear.
if they do a sniff test, i the rollers, (i dont think they will) NOX is the hard own to pass. (three way cats to pass)

suzuki the cat is $1400 delivered.
