New gearbox noise after diff locker install?
#2
hello and welcome !
4wd, im sure. 2door or 4, 3,4,5 speed tranny?
play? where exactly?, transfer case output shaft or , real axle carrier, input shaft?

so you put in lockright.
you removed the carrier pinion shaft? ,it's not required, but step 2 in instructions have you check for play in all bearings first.

if the tail shaft of transfer , has play, felt, (not front to rear sliding) its bad, why are the 2 bearings or the spline.
but some times its just the transfer tail shaft yoke (u-joint) piece just bad. (splines inside shot?) remove yoke, look at spline for damage, try to pry tail shaft up and down with a wood stick. if it moves bearings are bad.

bearing 20 and 34 are the 2 bearings.

btw, bearing 43 is the bearing that goes dry and then bad, fat towed. too far.
