Ok, 1994 Suzuki Sidekick JLX. (4 door, 4wd, auto, federal emissions). Finally after that nag debacle I got the diagnostic to run and got
code 34 MAF (16valve only)  Air Flow Sensor Circuit ,too low current. , lower than  0.65mA detected.  So Im going to try and clean it with MAF cleaner. If that doesnt work what else should I try before buying a new sensor? ANd If I have to buy a new sensor which one do you guys recommend (not a lot of choices) It has 229000 miles on it and runs good.

first see if the thing is plugged in, sure it is.
then make sure it has  legit MAF p/n on the side and if missing is a crap china MAF that  are useless (ebay $15 mafs are)
13800-58B00 (USA only)  is this, hot wire used in USA. clones have no suz. number,   best rebuilt is Cardone, look for sales googling is best. using the cardone numbers. off there web site.
CARDONE does not do direct sales, so google it.

keyon only volts =1.0–1.6 volts  (zero air flow  voltage is this
idle voltage is 1.7–2.0 volts. at 800 RPM
gun throttle might see 3v
my SHOP VAC sucking hard key on gets 3.0vdc. out.  (huge  shop vac with 2" hose.

if have an excel plot and my jpg echo of same here. that far reach only happens  at 95 HP real .  if maf is bad you can never see 95HP ever.


long ago the MAf WAS $1200 @suzuki dealers So I was motivated to measure  it all ways possible.

yes clean the hot wire, be 6"or more inches away from wire, and clean it 3 times soak it 1min and repeat, few times.  freeway driving in heavy traffic can coke it up bad.
