ok your car is 4wd, and is still stock , no missing parts, no wrong parts. no swapped odd parts. (my wild presumptions)
so i looked in the EPC (huge parts catalog for suzukis, 92-98
what changes were made with just your car. (4speed/related changes only)
1998 the outside case 4speed cooler lines changed. (dont care)
the gear shift levers seems to change 3 or 4 times (who cares?)
the transmission 4 case output shaft on the transmission changed at a specific year and vin. thie B01 shaft
eg1: S6406487~ S means year code S 1995... and the number are the cars serial number. prefix.
i have no idea what was changed in this shaft, rumor says ,stronger.... but its not the splines! changed , so is ok,
in year, 1994 (code R vin) they changed the Kickdown valve. (no idea why or what this does, but who cares. )
related:
the transfer case, output shaft changed teeth in 1996,, NEW SPLINE count (lower)
(so if used 96 4sp is bought with xfr case, this case is no good. use old xfr case) and
the means the rear prop drive shaft changed to match this new SPLINE, in 1996 (so get the newer year 4sp+xfr case with rear drive shaft?)
conclusion:
other than minor changes, the 92-98 4speed box can be swapped, 4wd, (IMO , in my opinion, but swaps are complex)
I do not have access to the "Hollander" wreckers data base for parts swaps. so can not look that up.

all i can do use use car-parts.com
seen here.
http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi
i see they exclude, 1996 and newer 4speeds
this can be just for smog laws reasons (shift points do effect that). not just fit and works.
In general:
the word fit has many meanings
Direct stock OE swap, no issues, at all.
Direct with minor issues. (say, outside lines and vents need minor work)
wont fit but can if drive shaft or transfer case swapped.
needs a rewire.
has wrong solenoids.
has wrong PRNDL switch, (use old one?)
wrong TC clutch.
not smog illegal (mostly a California issue)
and more.
now the really wild ideas but one can learn by others doing wild swaps.

wireless means NO TCM brain.
he means a real hydramatic trans, old school.
folks do this , in desperation, or have access to lots of cheap wrecked cars.

your 4speed is really a Toyota mostly owned, A40 series box.
and, was used in many other cars. (even your teachers Volvo, LOL)
your box is really a A44DE, with the 4wd adapter added. that be it.
