Water Pump Woes

I have A 1996 Sidekick JLX Sport 4WD Auto transmission. I was replacing the exhaust and O2 sensors yesterday and I saw coolant on the ground not much but it was coming from the weep hole in the water pump. It has also been making a bit of noise. Before I buy a water pump and a new thermostat I need to know how bad this job is gonna be keep in mind chiltons and alldata don't offer me much information. Any thoughts would be helpful.
