I ordered one from him this morning. He builds them to order. He said the tank has 4 attachment points. 2 on the bar which rusts out and 2 in the back. There are no straps. He said when the bar rusts, the front side of the tank hits the crash protector and bends the rear two mounts on the tank. In extreme failures, the tank will come out and drag down the road. Not good! His kit comes with two bars that simulate the space the tank occupies and ensures that you get the bar installed properly to accept the holes on the tank for proper mounting. I'll post some pics when I receive the kit. For me, it's a no brainer. I don't have to do all the engineering to make it work.
He recommended welding since if you bolt the bar into place, you would need some spacers inside the frame so that you don't crush it when you tighten down the bolts. Welding seems actually easier and stronger. Yes, shipping maybe another 25-50. I'll let you know what I pay. They said they would bill the shipping separately. I'm in Ohio right now.
