Muffler question
#11
I should add that if you are looking for a new muffler, based on my experience I would avoid the Walker "Walker SoundFX"
items. They carry a low price, but mine eventually started to make a horrendous noise sort of like a cat converter disintegrating. Very embarrassing. By the time I got around to address the issue, the warranty was one month out of date!. I ended up with a Bosal assembly that so far has performed properly.

yes things change,
i wonder who makes walker now.
many companies just stop and get some china clones there, with zero qaulity or rANDOM SPOTS WELDS in the muff.
i then home made system is best from scratch and the top brand muffler fitted. cat back.f.
a turbo muffler best of best. not for flow but quality...
good luck and thanks for the Bosal tip, !!!

I am referring only to the WALKER SoundFX muffler assembly 18830. The Walker 18217 could be good.
The Walker Stainless Quiet-Flow muffler assembly 55123 might be very good.
For me, the around $50 SoundFX muffler 18830 failed without a speck of rust on it.
The around $100 Bosal 285-213 fit and works properly for the Tracker. For additional cost Bosal has one with
a resonator too.

in the real world parts are a moving target

how old is the part in stock?
which warehouse,
which country
and things today get redesigned, in a flash, (CAD /CAM ) or make in 10 factories world wide and no 2 are really the same.
some parts are rebranded, (like GEO= Sidekick = Vitara) then name game.
some parts take local parts and pay for new famous brand name. to increase sales. how knows really what you bought., (i say to no one)

good parts are where you find them
just like the same saying for GOLD

good luck.

For another car, I was looking to get a Koyo bearing. When item arrived, same brand and identical part number, the bearing in the box was Chinese.
I ordered based upon the fact that the image for that part number was of a Koyo bearing. Had to return it.

no sources stated was it" fleabay?
if you ordered of Fleabay,?
tell me who made and error.?

you will get burned there.
why on earth buy bearings there, when they are here, in USA.
vast places sell them. here , near endless ,
and all auto-stores here ,everyone can special order any bearing. here, what;s the problem , its so confusing why make this hard>?
why are your on fleabay (if are), (sure low price, super low price and counterfeit to the max)

I wanted the muffler to spin around smoothly at high rpm, so since the car was a Toyota I thought Koyo bearings would be a good idea. If I remember correctly, they were branded Beck/Arnley. I 100% remember that they were ordered from RockAuto.com. The RockAuto website had a picture of the bearings showing Koyo, so I ordered those. When I opened the box, I pulled out bearings with some Ching Chow writing on them, but no "Koyo" name etched anywhere.

There are many muffler, lots, (based on engine size, sure)
Cat back (sorry )) means from the CAT back, this means the NON EPA controlled, end. or even DIY
but the technology is as follows.

glass packs, most ive used are polar, IN and OUT, if you look inside, the bent flaps in the tube, inside, those Front > rear, see how that V edged catches the sounds.
baffle muff. its just baffles and most are polar, some even have up and down for water drains, (fuel burns to H20 and CO2) wiki mufflers its all there.
a pure sonic muffler, used sound echo cancelling tech. (they are like magic, wiki it.)
the turbo muffs are just high flow, and more rugged.

you want a muffler to spin around smoothly? Ive no idea what that means.
Koyo bearings are all good
counterfeit not.
clones not. (no names called , like "Som Ting Wong")
id call rock and complain,, never got a part from them bad, ever, and used them since they opened there doors.

do not buy those listings on rock, close out specials. you might get who knows.

if worried, call them and tell them what you see there and ask what it really is.
id not do any off this.
every store in town here, can buy or sells bearings.. if not the cars will stop rolling for sure. (one way we won WW2 is bombing bearing factories... for just this reason)

rock sells very few koyo
if you google site search them, i see almost nothing

i see right now, KOYO differential , bearing kit and nothing else
you should post a link to the bad bearings. or was this 10 years ago, and memory fads.

here is this site search

https://www.google.com/#q=koyo+bearings+...ckauto.com

wish you would show links so we dont have to guess, car and what bearing is bad in car.

are you like off deep in some woods in Canada with no stores./?
locations matter.
we can find other sources.,
rock is my last choice, (first on web , last because of below)
i use autostores first. "NAPA: finds most my needs, for sure when i gave up rice.
or bearing stores
you could just order from suzuki
we can post any number. p/n
