Muffler question
#21
The picture for the one I ordered has been changed, they use lots of generic pics for bearings now. It looks like the trend is you don't get to know the origin anymore. If you look at something like: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?...&jsn=10495 When zoomed round the 12:00 position, to me the identification looks photo shopped out.
I did then go to local stores and open boxes, could not get a pair from same manufacturer that would not include at least one Chinese one.
Flea Bay did eventually produce a pair of KOYO, I did message the seller to be sure before buying.

buying one rband only in pairs is a problem
doing mail order. (and will always be so , buying blind) still no links from you to these part at rock bad.? why not show it ? (we'd even all them an ask why its wrong, so the next poor sod dont get burned)
in our stores we can special order any bearing, in parts or pallet loads. full.
if hell bent on koyo, why not a clue.
then call KOYO , in say LA.
and ask them what is a stocking distributor in your unstated area.
they will tell you..
or just spend the time searching, and contacting each seller,

I finished that job a few years ago. The picture I was going by is gone now. I was just commenting on the difficulty of getting quality parts these days.

old story, i have 1000s... can tell stories bad all day, endless.
good luck with brand loyalties.
and rumors.
I have none.
only lists of top brands, for 50 years.
no love of a name here, zero.

how about this story.
i buy CV joint in brick store. (famous name store. Franchise.)
its not for my car.
I take it back, the p/n on sideof box , is correct says maker, (yah called them)
store clerk says come back tomorrow.
I do
its on the counter, and I look at it, and i see my secret mark i made on part and box. "sharpee pen"
I tell him see here. my marks. you give me the same part again
he turns red (guilt)
i walk,
I never went back ever.

seems some other customer sent it back too, but mixed boxs CV.
making it the wrong part.

I shop in NAPA, mostly, they are really great and can get anything, I want. sometimes in hours in not in THIS store.

buying rice car parts, is problem for sure Underdog makers, and worst bugged out.
It will get worse, I bet.

btw, rockauto has evolved vastly in the last 10 years.
all for the better.
every inch, IMO

why not tell them when they mess up.
they will try harder.

imagine keeping photos matched , on 10,000,000 parts
glad it's not me,,,, heheheheheh
most stores tell you its a stock photo or even worse, it tells you , its kinda like this part.
kinda.
that is SO LIKE THE INTERNET NOW.
or worse, photo coming soon.
that is why brick stores win, (seen on the counter, gee that is wrong ,so wrong)

saw a guy here buy radiators , 5 times mail order and never did get the right one. (lots there are,,)
try brick stores,,, and win,.
endless stories of bad.
truly, endless.

how about the that cloned , oil pump for G16s off stinking fleabay that is too thick. (cant fit the cog on now, ever)
or the MAF sensor for $100 that is DOA, no hope of ever working once the insides are looked at...

buying parts is a problem on this car
no lie

I did not consider it to be the fault of Rock Auto. I did call them to explain why I was returning those bearings. They promptly issued a return order.
While attempting to find the original photo, it appeared to me that the new photos of the bearing did not show the manufacturer anymore, and possibly may
have been photo shopped in order to remove that kind of identification.

Yes, the readiators are tough to match. it looks to me that was a result of the design of the mounting on the Tracker/Sidekick. The mounting brackets are tacked to a tube in front, making it very easy to install various width radiators when the car was first assembled. I had to call the warehouse to be sure the one I ordered would make a proper fit. You could also cut out the weld and reset the spacing, but I figure that if I pay for new, it should fit without having to mess around like that.
