Sounds like you are suggesting to buy the whole new radiator! I think it would be too expensive (cost plus shipping). I will try my best to mod the cover into metal one first. Is there any other way around? There is one negative side I have heard about is welding it to the rad!

the car came new with a Harrison™ radiator , installed, new at the C.A.M.I plant in Canada.
it's plastic tanks and are glued and clamped to the aluminum core.
there is no brass, there. no soldering actions works here, ever notice Radiator shops are now gone? (same reason, no brass , no solder and acid washes kill aluminum)
you can not weld plastic to metal.
you will not find a welder to do that, if he did, , would charge more in labor than the cost of a new RAD. ((alum top to core)
not to mention, the risk , spending huge labor and only small success possible.

I'm not suggesting any thing, only you can decide how to risk cash. or risk blowing up a good engine when it flies, apart at top speed. (overheated to max)
why are you ship something?, chances are the 10 rads made for sidekicks, you'd get the wrong one (vast posts same), and then spend 3 times for shipping, you, them ,you.
where would you find an aluminum top tank? fab one from scratch sure, but that too is huge labor costs...
have you ever welded thin aluminum? (with say TIG).?
they sell this radiator in every auto store here in town. (NAPA on down the line, all do or can get them in 24hr, from the big warehouse, or less time. some can in hours.)
that tank is under 14psi pressure running, it needs to be strong to do that.
if it wont hold that correct pressure, the boiling point falls. from 259f to 226F (50%AF)
not good.
if running pure water, it boils at 212F: with no pressure on the system.'
Ive never seen or heard of anyone repairing a radiator, today, all those old shops that did that long ago, are gone or now do brakes.

the first hard part is finding the correct J18 engine RAD.
most stores will in fact try to sell you the G16 RAD.
im warning you.... and for sure online,

many don't even know what Vin code 2 means . for the engine.
most are clueless.
watch out.... this can be the most hard part, shipping and long long delays....

here is a photo at advanced auto.
id want to walk in ,see it the make darn sure it fits my car, I would want to LOOK. first. then buy,
its not like buying spark plugs. or gas cap.

on G16 the body mounts are not same 4door and 2door.
pitfalls aplenty,

2 stores had it in stock 2 didnt
all 4 stores can get it fast. in hours.
just one store example above, all stores here have it or can get it... zero risk,,, zero.


the cheapest is from here. (not a recommendation at all) I buy them in Person.

Finally I found the upper plastic cover to replace the cracked one for the Sport's radiator!!!!!!Smile
It was just 30$. I took the cracked one to show around at several radiator repair shops.
Don't ever tell them Suzuki or they just shake their heads!!!

rad shops are rare today , here,
no more brass , now aluminum and plastic,
in most cases repairing rad costs more that new one.
all our walts radiators are gone here, now says Brakes.
but what a lucky find.....

Here, there are a lot of them. Those who import such plastic cover things would not know which fits what car. The rad guys knows them all (you give them the old cracked cover and they will take it to look for you. This way works well. Don't tell them Suzuki, people everywhere just shake their heads). I checked at rockauto.com the new radiator for the Sport costs plus shipping to here would be 300$.

the problems with rebuilds are , early failures... most have cores thin as paper,after so many miles and getting a tank so seal (sealant failures, lots)

best is to find all makers that make the rad, in their catalogs
get there P;/n and search for stores that sell it , for good price.
many stores, price gouge.....

also do not buy the M/T rad, $$$
the a/t works and is way less cost....

i think the spectra 2087, wins. on price.
