Fix, I managed to take some pics of my tranny. This is the tail of my tranny and the underside of it. Could not get pics of the label from the manufacturer.

a usa federal car in PR.
that is what it is. i think
that means it has USA Federal ECU and EGR systems.
the bottom ECU tag will state, US-AT clear as day.
making all this match.

are you swapping engines,, ?

the 96 and up engines all fit no issues, to any 92-95 body. (engine long block, not the intake and not the exhaust just the engine.
if you want to move something else ask. because in 1996 many splines changed.
and all electrics for OBD2 (usa , car , 96 will have that, and the 96 hood sticker will prove what it is , USA fed it will say.)

the 96 oil pump and pan and crank cog are unique but are ignored doing down year. and never up years.

what are you wanting to swap. (all parts)
?

your 94 is FED USA car, imported to PR.
i have 100% docs on it and all parts list. and tons more data.

lets say you wanted to run the 96 intake manifold. (case in point)
it has a useless egr2 on the rear, so ignore that
it has new monoport EGR. so you'd have to make all that fit it. (side pipe, end bits)
the monoport is 10x better, intake if you want EGR to work. 10x easier to clean, bar none.
but ive never tried it with the 94 ECU (early) my guess is it will work? if you keep the 94 EGR main. AFTER ALL if the EGRT (PROBE) IS HAPPY THE ECU WILL BE HAPPY, seems it would to me....flow is flow.
there can be other minors issues,

the exhaust 14111-58BV0 (b01 in 94) it might just have lenght differences. or shields , i do not know.

ok bad A/T , (ever try a new clean filter , yet?)
you'd pull a tranny before a filter?

2wd
16v
4doors ? (5 doors by Euro parlance)
issues with transmissions, all 4speed, all Trackicks, and vitara's

they are 2 rear prop shafts. (4doors only, more if looking at 2dr) at the rear.
there are 2 4speeds used, world wide.
for 2wd cars. and 4wd.
when buying a tranny, 4speed you need to LOOK at yours. first.
see photo below see red circle.?
there are 2 adaptors.
as you may not know Aisin makes this tranny with no tail and the car makers adds the tail for their APP.
so, there is the fast flare tail and the tapered flare...

this is what must be known, before you buy.

some 4speed in the wild have this.

same tranny but with all different , extensions and prop shafts.
never buy a tranny unseen with you naked eyes.

at the least.

starting in 2005 there is no answer. to 2wd
it varies by country
see that wiki on this vary complex subject.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Escudo

"but a 3-door version is also available in some markets. In some markets the 3-door variant drops the "Grand" to be branded simply "Vitara". In some countries, including Chile the 5-door version is named "Grand Nomade"."

key word, SOME.

No engine swap at the moment. This pics were in relation to the Tranny that was on sale in Ebay and you told me to take a look at the end tail of my tranny (Now working 100% good, knock on wood)
because they made different tail for the manny years compatible with my 94 Fed. I was pondering at the idea of getting a good rebuilt tranny and had found one on ebay but for 96?

your signature does not even say 2wd or 4wd.
by the way ive seen lots of kicks with most the 4wd parts missing, now 2wd. lots. due to PO removing them..

the 4speed has 2 forms
one is 2wd and other is 4wd
the latter has a huge transfer case attached.
best i can tell from the too close photos (in the MILitary i and to iD all Russian air craft parked in a hanger with just one wing tip out..... so had practice)
too close back up a bit please.
keep in mind we here do not know what hacks are on the the car. any car, not photographed fully.
photo 2 is the rear of a transfer case i can see the chain drive section.

photo 3 shows engine pan, and bell but no front axle, why miss axle and front prop shaft.
so its 4wd car.
that means your transmission must have the transfer case adaptor. as see in photo with circle of read dots, ID 3/4

suzuki buys the 4speed with that transfer case, adaptor that fits the transfer case.

if you look at the rear of the 4speed and not the the transfer case you will clearly see this part.

when buying a transmission the seller will be very cautious. so you get the right part.
after all he dont know how your car is hacked up.

one car i had was missing all 4wd parts but had the front 4wd axle.
so i put all the correct parts back an bam working 4wd.
photos rule. all sellers are blind and have no history on your car.

BTW looking at the drawing you made and my pictures of the tranny end, doesn't my tranny tail look like the 96 in drawing? Or I'm getting confused somewhere?

J

No front wheel drive for me. Fronts are dead axles, that i can tell for sure. I'll take better pics tonight.

how'd you get to 98
before its was 96?

why not photo the rear of tranny, not transfer case.

tranny ++++ transfer case.
>>>>>^<<<<<<<<<<
snap here.

keep in mind, old cars lots of times have the wrong parts there.
especially in PR, where there no stores for car parts. or dealers?
one guy here, has volvo a44 trans fitted to the kick and electronic shift , and no 4wd, one other guy has this same deal but had to take the trans adaptor off old 4sp and fit it to the volvo.
what you see , is what you got.

here is the 4wd, 4speed, that came car day one
see that object behind the pan and up, that is the transfer case adapter that makes A44DE become a 03-07LE box. becomes suzuki 4wd box. end to end.
a 5speed transfer case fits there too. or the 3speed transfer case.
what changes is drive shaft sizes for each trans option and body length and the 96+ transfer box has a new spline, making your rear drive shaft not fit a 96+ xfr case .

find a shop that can fix your box. (hand delivered)
or get the kit and DIY. (hard)
or buy a rebuilt box , with a full warranty
used transmissions that are 20 years old are usually no good. (OMG shipping to PR would be like what $500 after customs)

Yes Suzuki dealers are gone from PR and only a couple of OEM part sites around the island are still left. Keep in mind I was referring to the Ebay auction which was a 96-98 according to the description way before I had a look at mine. I agree with you and that is what I do all the time, take my sample or take pictures of them so the fail path is avoided. Of course with your big help along the way.

The blue rectangle is the transfer case and the red would be what makes my car a 4WD?

Neat, did not know.
