BTW, my engine is a 16 valve, late 1995 (I think). Looking at your EGR page, tube #50 is present (if I’m reading the diagram correctly).

1996+ is that , EGR level 2

the engine mount at bell mount left (drivers seated side) flange, shows G16xNNNNNN     X is yearcode,  T= 1996.
for sure 16valves  and 1996 UP

Knowing year is very important to get right parts.

Can’t find engine serial number. Access from underneath car or on top from engine bay? Vehicle VIN says it’s a ‘95 Tracker. Possible engine swap?

S= 1995 engine. good.

the 1995 , late end of year model did have pipe 50 added, a very good think easy to fix clogged, 100x more easy.
called EGR version 2.

95 is last year of OBD1.
95 can use any 16v engine 92 to 98 USA. no CKP sensor on yours so all 16v work here.

Update: Lots of progress then a setback.

Timing belt with new bottom cog and bolts (top and bottom) - done.
Water pump - done.
Valve lash - done.

Then a setback.
Installed new o-rings on distributor. Began to install distributor, rotor turned when engaging gears (as expected). Went smoothly until starting to engage o-ring (oil on new o-ring, no nicks or gouges on shaft or housing). Very difficult to seat dizzy the final half-inch or so (caught on o-ring). Applied more pressure, after making sure dizzy was going in straight, then “snap”! Broke the dizzy housing where the shaft meets the body, just above the o-ring.
So now I need a new housing (at least).
Is it best to try to find a new housing or just get a new distributor? If so, which brand to avoid?
Engine is VIN 6, 16 valve. 1995 Tracker. Dizzy is 3-prong electrical plug and .475” diameter rotor cam.

Thanks in advance.

great
and cardone 1 sells refurbs too.

is this USA car? sold here, ?  in Europe and all over the world not here, more kinds distribs used, called TYPE 1,2,34, engines.

real suzuki car USA
the vin  code for 8v and 16v are both code zero so buying parts 1/2 DO NOT FIT. for that one reason.
also
sorry yours is GM GEO Tracker and VIN code U is 8v. and vin code 6 is 16valve, so we can order parts by VIN on GM version of car.
tracker were also sold in CANADA, and have maple leaf tag next to vin tag,  and can be different parts on that car.

the suzuki real number for 1992 16v is this.
33100-58B10

56b is 8valve. and dead wrong.
CARDONE 3125405   shows 58b in info link there.

the rockauto, has parts for not USA only I see and mixes them all up on one page, not easy to work that.
the ac-delco fails to show actual suzuki or GM partnumbers like cardone1 shows.

cardone 1 ecat
https://www.cardone.com/search?criteria=...i%201588cc

not sure me why 4 there,  suzuki has only 1 distrib, 92-95 , 96 radically different,  OBD2.  (pin count yes, but why 4 distributors?) my guess 2 rotor shaft sizes. but why?

lets try to find AC delco, ecat.

is find the ecat,  and it lists only U VIN code engine,  (8v)

it states
Distributor
Part Number:  88864800 (wrong)
Product Notes:
Reman Distributor
All; with 3 Prong Plug

Per Vehicle: 1; Years: 1991-1993  (see this that means 8v as does code U, so they do not sell your distributor, per the cat they do not.
lets see if the do same on sidekicks next.
no 16v in 1991, is  huge clue above

ah yes they do.
seen here

Distributor
Part Number:  88864801
Product Notes:
Reman Distributor
All; with .526" Diameter Rotor Cam; 16 Valves*

Per Vehicle: 1; Years: 1992-1995 (no 1991 is huge clue will not fit 8v engine 91 period)

https://parts-catalog.acdelco.com/catalo...search.php

you must buy a B58xx distrib, suzuki even stamps the side as such.
