Suzuki Sidekick won't idle down - jimminy - 03-23-2024 Removing the vacuum hose doesn't change anything. Idles at 1600. RE: Suzuki Sidekick won't idle down - jwunsch - 03-25-2024 https://fixkick.com/IDLE-AIR/fastfix.html Start there. I replaced all hoses, eventually ended up completely blocking thermal IAC as its bad and only replacement parts would be as old as mine is.. and issue is hardened wax pellet, but you might just have vacuum issues or incorrectly calibrated TPS or bad ISC. So do everyting else first. Also if you hear suction sounds in the cabin check the brake booster. Mine broke and caused high idle. You can pull the booster hose and block it completely with your finger / piece of wood to check if it helps. Without clear info what year, model car you have you are not going to get much more help. Fixkick will ask you that anyways, so fill in the info there now. Anyhow look all the easy issues first and wait for fixkick to answer. Incase you end up having to block IAC there is away to do it without taking the EFI out. You must be extra cautious not to let the engine suck anything inside it or you risk damage to cylinders, pistons and valves. Taking it apart is safer. My hacking starts from post #11 with a failure (it ingested some play dough.. so bad idea). Before you attempt any of this, you must have checked all other possible vacuum leaks or you might just fuck up working thermal IAC: 15# contains successful attempt. #16 has first DIY idle boost or "choke" for cold start. #17 I hacked a moped gas valve thingy to work as choke or elevated idle. Ohyeah.. and original post on that thread has info example what you need to provide for fixkick to help. https://fixkick.com/forum/thread-high-idle-probably-broken-iac-questions?pid=13976#pid13976 RE: Suzuki Sidekick won't idle down - fixkick - 03-27-2024 (03-23-2024, 09:02 AM)jimminy Wrote: Removing the vacuum hose doesn't change anything. Idles at 1600.no car told at all, or if modified as many cars now this old. nor year. is this car outside USA? or at least say is it 8valve or 16v engine G16A or B? 2 radically different answers on those 2 engine, TBI and MPI are not the same at all. sorry. top cause (wild guessing reality) is MPI engine, IAC thermal idle valve below the throttle body (side draft) is stuck open and bad, super common. same goes for 8v TBI the IAC in the base of the down draft TBI is bad. stuck open. other causes. 8v, lots of vacuum leans RPM goes why high. with full power on 16v, it uses MAF and no MAP so a vacuum leak makes it go lean and slows down. (running hot normal 180f) but the 16v if on cold start warm up mode, Not told you, when it happens but is cold it is now in ENRICH mode and when cold vacuum leaks cause faster idle until hot.
so is a Jimny> ? 1970 to present and never sold USA but yes as Samurai. vast versions and drive lines exist on JIMNY https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Jimny see them here. RE: Suzuki Sidekick won't idle down - fixkick - 03-27-2024 or title name , from Disney Jimmny cricket? I can only guess. |
