Valve Lash on 1992 8 Valve TBI - sina27 - 02-17-2022 Hello, Got a 1992 Tracker 4WD 5 speed TBI. Im going to adjust my valve lash. I'm seeing some discrepancies in the actual lash specs: On the 8 valve FixKick website, it says cold lash for 8 valve is: .0051 - .0067 inch (intake) .0063 - .0079 inch (exhaust). The fixkick page also referenced this PDF showing alll the specs for all geo years: https://fixkick.com/All-Pdfs/Engine-Tune-specs/tuneup.pdf On this page, for a 1992 1.6 TBI, it says the clearances for cold is: .3140 inch (intake) .0102 - .0120 inch (exhaust) Confused why the PDF seems so off, 0.3inchs seems like huge clearance!??? Is the PDF wrong? RE: Valve Lash on 1992 8 Valve TBI - fixkick - 03-12-2022 the last is only different if you read the suzuki manual then GM. (GEO) GM loves to average or round off. they think that makes the job easier I guess but is not any kind of worry that PDF is bogus and my error, back in 2007 and is the wrong PDF from a top after market , fake factory service manual (Chiltons ) or the like and was 1 click error me picking the wrong PDF sorry , you'd need USE a straw Hat rim to set that gap.... (blusH) fact is it is wrong. |
