Where is the windshield cowl drain?

Dear Fix,
Where is the windshield cowl drain? I want to restore it because whenever I drive the car during the rain it gets leak under the dash on the passenger's side to the floor. Somebody told me to remove the whole front fender on the passenger's side! Is that's correct?

hello
that huge box under the front edge of windshield the cowl box, drains to top rear of both front fenders.
if will now leak , unless both drains are blocked with leaves. and the water rises over the center HVAC fresh air coffer dam.
takes high water to do that, what 4 or 5 inches, IIRC.
on mine there is cap on the top rear of fender that comes off.
or blast water hose nozzle jet of water up there?
i can only think of 4 ways, to fix it.
1 blast it from below.
2 those caps that come off. (tricky if i remember) hidden screws deep under fender, and liner in the way/
3 cowl top off and you need wiper bottom end to shaft puller, to get them off first. then cowl top off,
4 fender off.

on mine, i did 2 and 3, duel to huge leaves and needles in there, I just wanted it all out. before the biblical flood.

chapter 8e covers method 3 above. cowl top off, for wiper motor and links out.

I tried to crawl under with flash light but cannot see any holes out there.

Today, I have figured out what to do to restore the cowl drain holes on both sides of the driver and passenger but not yet taken actions due to the time constraint.

1. Remove the front wheels
2. Remove the plastic inner fender liners
3. Remove the air intake tubes, on passenger's side only
4. Get a wire to drill the small holes between the rocker panel & the lower lip of the fenders... that are easily clogged.
5. Blast high pressure water through the holes from behind the front fenders
6. Remove the bulkhead center cover and blast high pressure water from the top side to the cowl drain holes
7. All of these without necessarily removing the front fenders themselves!

Whether you agree with these or make some comments.

blasting always, can win.
on mine, i had to remove the top cowl, huge packup of needles. there. pine needles and if not fully cleaned right,the side drains would repack soon.
dirt has no bounds.

Just update.
Although I did the above mentioned work, I could not stop the leak. Only when the pro removed the windshield and silicone it again!

yes, if the cowl coffer dam is not exceeded, with hug water levels in the cowl box.
then there is rust there or sure the windshield caulk , fractured.

testing 1,2,3:
one way to test this besides looking in said box. for debris. leaves, etc. is to pour water in the box.
from up top at the vents, left, outside car, and look to see if the drains work and that the water does not rise to the level of the main heater coffer dam.
if not, then the leaks is else where.
the dam is a collar metal ring that gets fresh air up in the middle of the cowl box. dry air. if it leaks the heater box leaks first. that is clue 2.
