Replacement COP?
#1
I found this listing on eBay for replacement Coil on Plugs for my 1.6 liter Chevy Tracker. The price is unusually low - $28. The image shows an AC/Delco package. Can anyone tell me if these are good? counterfeit?

Thanks,

Joe Tracker

boy, detecting counterfeits, now that is hard job, they clone it all, packaging and all.
only delco would ,know, most makers of top brands, have a web site page to show how to find them ,detect them. too bad the bar code is hidden.
off hand looks real to me....
im sure ACdelco has real plant i china, and most likely this is it. Just like BOSCH has and NGK. but they run it and own it.

I do hope your stalls are cured, forever.
The CMP errors are common and for sure hot soaked, some love to fail when you park and the heat rises (water pump now dead, 0 RPM) and the CMP bakes, and fails, then wakes up colder.
a very common issue.

My stalls ARE FIXED!!! Replacing the Camshaft Position Sensor completely fixed the stalling issue. Base on some of our exchanges, however, I have decided to go ahead and do a 60K service since I do not know when the last 60K service items had been done (I bought the car with 134K on it. I have 145K on it now.). And I am replacing plugs, wires, and boots (all NGK). I saw these apparent AC Delco COPS and thought I would buy them as back-ups. But my tracker is running great again! My wife and I drove my Tracker around Moab last Fall and had a ball! I want to keep it in excellent running condition.

Thank you!

I bought two of these AC/Delco COP's off eBay for my 1.6L. The appear 100% authentic and my engine is running great with the new COP's (and also new NGK wires and plugs and the new camshaft sensor). Not bad for $56 for two new COP's. The link to the eBay listing is in my first post on this thread. The Techron injector cleaner probably played a part as well.

I will check the torque on the crank front end bolt for correct torque. I will also check the cam belt (it was replaced at 134,000 and I am at 145,000 now).
Cheers!

134k MILES? or Kilometers?
134k miles is 2 times life if belt, like record. if true, but Gates belts are good belts, if found there.

Sorry - 134,000 miles. That's when the timing belt, water pump, O2 sensor, EGR valve, cam seals, and radiator were replaced. At about 140,000 miles I replaced the alternator and battery. Of course I also just replaced the cam shaft sensor (to correct the stalling issue) , front struts, ignition wires, COP's, and spark plugs.

If eBay is any indication, the key items folks are replacing are:

1. Crankshaft position sensor
2. Cam shaft position sensor.
3. COP's
4. Spark plugs
5. Spark plug wires
6. Boots

Would it be prudent to carry a replacement crank shaft position sensor?

Thanks for your help.

sorry too me...., many trackers in USA imperial miles BS and Canada using real metric KM.
hey you're doing great, sounds like mine, and included all new brakes, cylinders, and MC.
i dont think the CKP can fail. its just a coil of wire unlike the CMP with hall driver electronics that died from heat. I bet any CMP can go a decade no issues.
ckp has 2 wires (not counting shield) it is only a Faraday simple coil.

did you unplug the ckp and run engine,? the 98 and older run , only misfire detection goes dead. but runs. (very unlike most cars made, )
so not stuck on the road dead, on them cpk dead.
most fail for dirt on end or connector damaged. (or some one cut the shield off the cable, dang so now picks up noise.)

hope your car runs lone, and happy, over 300k easy with good hoses. (no overheats)
