First off Thanks for accepting me in the forum. I have a 1996 sidekick sport, 1.8l 16v motor. A few years ago it broke the timing chain and I never got around to messing with it. Now I am trying to pull the motor and my question is where is the best place to connect chains to it? I don’t see any rings like some motors have and no place really to bolt some to it.

YOU ARE 100% WELCOME HERE. ONLY GROSS SPAMMERS ARE BANNED. (SELLING PANTIES AND THE LIKE, or worse)
J18 ENGINE IS A GREAT ENGINE. DOHC. AND MORE POWER.
CHEERY PICKER CHAINS
THE HEAD HAS TWO LIFT TAB RINGS ATTACHED TO THE CROSS CORNER MANIFOLD BOLTS. (If not thrown away but last guy doing head job)
ok they are missing now, so make up new ones.
the G16 naked block was like 100 lbs. so no great weigh here.
or use larger chain that can just be put under bolt head with a huge washer, but the bolts may need to be longer if thread depth not good.
good luck to you this car goes for 3 time what they used to cost in 2007, I bought them dead for $500 and restored as many as I could.
CHEERS TO YOU AND ALL.
