Mixture antifreeze or not??
#1
The idea of mixing the antifreeze and water is for the cold countries. In the hot countries, is this necessary??
My car is 96'Suzuki Sidekick Sport, 1.8l engine with more than 10k.

that rumor you are repeating of from the old days,  1960s ? and was a rumor than back to the 1930s' when they used alcohol then.
your engine is must run at 180f, (like it did new)
the antifreeze word (simple) is  just  lie here is what it really is.

the engine coolant, does 2 things, and more.
  1. it prevents freezing, (check)  at 50% mix,  the freeze point is near -30degress F,  note the minus sign, that is near 60degress bellow freezing temp of pure water +32F. huge protection.
  2. it increases greatly the cooling liquid to conduct (transfer) heat from the water jacket and to the Radiator ,  THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL on any modern car, this.
  3.  so is ANTI-Boil over protection of 50% mixed  coolant too. 260F protection.
  4. and last? is it prevents rust and fast corrosion inside the engine.   never good that,  even eats up pump blades, and more. as the water turns to acid bam, damage.
it is not optional at all,  why ever consider it is, is the true question?
if boil over the coolant in the engine you have a huge risk of warping the top  cylinder head, or far worse. ever see the cost of that?   $5 coolant over $1000+++ damage?

why risk that/ EVER?

it's called engine coolant and not just water, sorry.

Tap + AF (50% you mix)
or AF in the jug premixed by maker of jug at 50%

your call
water ONLY TAP or any, even holy water ) is no good from 1926 up,  back then radiators where huge just for water only cooling,
that is  fact.
in fact car makers were then allowed to use smaller radiators due to the NEW better coolant that in fact, has better heat CONDUCTION 2x better.
see?
the engine must not overheat pulling a trailer, up a huge hill,  on a 125F day.  (that is one more fact)
the more you work an  engine (using full power) the more heat it expells to the coolant)  At idle , you can run beer at coolant.  parked.

your rumor on cold climates is all wet (wrong)
100% dead wrong and serious, wrong myths.
we should make myths page.

1: bottle of snake oil rebuilds engine.
2: water all you need for coolant. (sure is in my boat, but your car is not a boat)
3: and 100 more, here.
