Looking for a MAF
#1
Hi, everyone

The MAF in my '98 Vitara has given up and I'm having trouble finding it as a spare part. It seems to be a rare part for the 6 cyl version (H20A engine) though the one for the 4 cyl version is plenty.

Any suggestions as to where to find one or maybe a compatible part from another car?

2L v6, is not sold here.
but cardone here, sells our G16,J18,J20 and H27 here, restored.
Suzuki does not sell it, they only sell the" whole throttle body /w MAF" ,with it for insane price. $1200+

Did you get the numbers off the side if it yet?
that is great place to start.

are you sure its bad?
0 volts out, or stuck at 4v ? or?
did you clean it first. gently from 6 inches away with maf cleaner.? the tip , bits are very fragile, use gently caution cleaning, and use plastic safe cleaner.

does it have this part name and number ?

The above Hitachi, is used on our J18./20 2.Liter 4 cylinder so Suzuki might use same on 2L 6 cylinder.??? see my hitachi P'/n?
see AIP sensor above.?

the part has numbers that really help.
watch out searching our stores, (USA) and finding the car missing with that engine, or wrong answers. our 98 has G16 in it. ;or J18,
never a H20. here. so searches show wrong parts..

if you photo yours,
and post the name if company (Hitachi?) and there P/n
ill add it to my page then look for substitutes, or rebuilt ones.

Thanks for that, I managed to find an old part and it turns out that the H20A engine uses the same AFH55M-13 as the 4 cylinder engine. First I tried one I bought through Ebay and it didn't work out to well, the car was almost undrivable. Then I tried another one from AIP Electronics and it worked perfectly.

yes that is covered on my hard buy parts page, FAM, j18/j20, and suzuki dont sell them , horror
the ebay ones are clones from china, not real. counterfeits and are known to not work.
only Hitachi work
