I would like to rebuild my 3l30 transmissionby myself...

I've got a 94 sidekick 1,6l 8v autom 4wd that I use and an 93 tracker 1.6l 8v 4wd that I completely rebuild.....

One of the thing that I never done before is rebuilding a tramsmission. I got the shop manual but for a first time there not enough info. any suggestion ?

I'm really not in a hurry as I,v got to repair the frame and rebuild most of the floor.

I didn't have time to complete my last post..... mostly, I wanted to know if there's a specific manual to rebuild the 3L30 transmission (with a lots of detail in it).....

Also is there any trackick owner that rebuild the trannsmission by themselves. Times isn't an issue as I won't drive this tracker before end of this summer or later next fall.....

I've learned so much reading your posts about everything about those trackicks, it helped me a lot about different issues. I looked some videos on utube about rebuilding transmissions. it doesn't look so hard to do, however there's so many details and if you forget a simple thing it can bring big problem ahead.

As said above I've got a lot of work to do on the frame and the body but I would be proud to be able to rebuild the transmission by myself.....

is it realistic to think I can do it ??!!!

there are full books sold by all transmission parts seller, makco. etc.
the book and videos
its old 1970s THM180 box modified for TCC then 4wd adaptor on the rear. 3L30 means that.
tons of data on this from then to now. endless.
and go to youtube type transmission overhaul , watch many do it on many types, ours has clutch packs.

THE Factory books GM or SUZ. do not teach rebuilts only how to mantle them Dismantle and mantle. that is it.
at the top book stores (BRICK ) or at say barns and noble.
buy all the trans rebuilding books there, they are dirt cheap, then read them,
they do a great job on this. one is the CARtech series, GM on the cover, no 180 but does modern tm boxes. much the same only bigger. more gears, then electric shifted later.
