if in California, they can fail you for the smog codes, even though car passes smog and engine / car operate 100% perfectly.
so... what works and what is legal are 2 different things..!

why not try it.?
plug it in, keyon with DIAG jumper see code 12 now? flash, pause flash flash, long pause, repeats endless... key on... not even started yet.
the only big risk is to that single injector. (valued at $150+)
it wont damage the engine,
the only risk to engine, is flogging hard a lean engine. But low fuel pressure (common) does this all the time. so....

to plug in any ECU, remove negative battery lug first.
to protect and prevent hot swapping any ECU.

Buying ECU is not a fun thing.
for sure used.

call the seller
say , if the ECU is not good, you want money back
if they refuse, pass.
but then again you never said price,?
$10 buy it
$100 + ask for DOA returns,
means if dead on arrival I get to return it.

there are only 3 sources.
1: Suzuki.
2: from ECU major re-builders with warranty. (best)
3: FROM AUCTIONS OR WHATEVER ON THE INTERNET. (called pigs in the poke sack here, or , NO WARRANTY) if bad , now you have 2 bad....


Price is every thing.
if low , it's good gamble
if high , expect a warranty
