see jeeps here.
that can not be done by you
if you read the FSM book, SM book. service manual.
the dealer needs to marry those 2 systems
in 1993 we can defeat that. but no 98 i bet.
see here

see skim rules.

please tell why you are doing this.???
id bet the 98 ECU is ok. ECM /pcm rarely fail unless alternator reg blows.

btw if swap parts
the book by JEEP tells you
it then kills both PCMs, to stop thives
case in point
dad car ecu dead, (rare) and moms same car is ok
so dad swaps them and fails , and puts them back
now both car must be towed to jeep, or will never run agian
by DESIGN, this fact.
its a FEATURE OF all modern jeeps.

the free FSM is there XJ books. free SM service manual , read the PCM pages, its all there
