4 Spd Auto transmission oil leak

Good Morning All,

Finally confirmed that the small oil stain on the floor is transmission oil.  It looks like it's coming from the join between bell housing and engine.  There is a noise, I think coming from the transmission area, that sounds like muffled tappet noise, but it only occurs while in gear and under acceleration.  No noise when in neutral and revving engine.
Anybody, Yoda Frank (?) have expert advice to help diagnose?
Car is a 1996 4 dr. 1.6i Auto, 140,000 miles.   Do I have to remove the transmission?

SEEMS THE FRONT SEAL TC SEALS BAD.
THE NOISE CAN BE BAD TC OR A/T PUMP GOING SOUTH FAST.
SORRY FOR THIS PROBLEM NOT A FUN JOB.

I DO NOT GET GET EMAIL UPDATES TO POSTS HERE SADLY SO ONLY LOOK EVERY MONTH.
