Diode identification help - Vitara 1.6 8V
#1
Hello.

First of all, sorry for my English, I'm from Poland.
My problem is that in the ECU of Vitara 1.6 8V the C111 capacitor has leaked and the SMD C48 capacitor has burned out. I fixed the paths and put in new capacitors. However, I noticed that there is one more element burnt, which must most likely be a signal diode (?). Could someone help me identify this diode marked on the PCB as D20? It is one of those SMD diodes with three leads. At the moment I don't have a photo, but I'll try to upload it tomorrow. Generally the diode is burned out so that its marking cannot be read. It's a diode connected directly to the pin that goes to the igniter and controls the ground on the igniter coil (orange wire). Other similar diodes in this unit have strange meanings :M.O: (?).
The exact ECU number is: JE331B604A

Thanks in advance for all answers.

Thanks in advance for all answers.

NO YEAR TOLD, CAR. OUCH BUT WELCOME TO POLAND FOR SURE.
SURE 56XXXX CPU I GUESS. 8V
THOSE NUMBER ARE CONTRACT NUMBER, AND ARE PURE SECRET, PER CONTRACT ,BLA BLA.
A 1N4004 WILL WORK CATHODE NOT BACKWARDS
I HAVE A IGNITER CRUDE DRAWING

a diode on the ignitor pin 91 to 95 usa is a protection diode for the ECU , CATHODE TO A12 AND ANODE TO GROUND.
THIS IS SO IF THE SPARK COIL BLOWS THE IGNITOR TO HELL, THE DIODE SAVES THE ECU FROM DEATH, (i/o chip dead)

PIN A12 CORRECT OR B12 ON SOME ECU A IS CHANGED TO B TO FOOL USE, BUT ARE THE SAME ECU.

this ECU ( in USA up to 1995 and was 8v banned here by EPA)

pin a1 or a12> a12 drives ignitor and A1 is tacho read back and if files injector is disabled.

nice HR photo of D20 zooms great.
smd (smt) diode.
first see if one of the 2 diode pads go to ground or to +5vdc pin or neither (ohm meter test)
if not to them does i go to A12,
sadly i can not see the cathode mark there.
sorry im late, had coolant leak on my wrangler JK jeep., engine hard to find read or engine block , 3.8L V6..
