Vitara 1991 brake booster replacement
#23
Just a update in case someone else swaps original 5130060A30 to 5130060A60 brake booster, there are few minor issues.

1) You might need to re-adjust the booster's nut. We had to, but we also changed the master brake sylidner, so can't be exactly sure if that caused it. But with eye-visual check it looked like the new booster is not 1:1 and probably will require adjusting the piston.

2) At least on my Vitara we had to hammer a small 1" x 1" dent into the left front wheel housing to fit the booster as we did not want to drill new holes into the firewall. Basically we just used large hammer to carefully hit the wheel well from the engine compartment side.

Dent is so small that there is zero danger for wheel to hit it when turning. But you probably should have primer and paint ready to avoid rusting. At least we had to repaint after hammering.

Anyhow we got it working and brakes are much better than ever after buying the car.
