Sealing the CMP?

The replacement CMP appears to be slightly smaller in diameter than the original. When I transferred the o-ring from the old to the new CMP, it was slightly larger in diameter than the O-ring channel on the new CMP. The original CMP was made my Mitsubishi. The replacement CMP is made by Import Direct and is from Taiwan.

I have added the O-ring from the original Mitsubishi CMP to the O-ring that came on the Import Direct CMP. The two O-rings together more fully fill the O-ring channel.

Could I also put some Permatex gasket sealer around seat of the CMP? Any suggestions?
