High heat paint does wonders but only if properly cured in oven. I tried several painting methods for moving engine parts and non lasted, only this one. I figured it has to look good even if it runs like crap.
I still have the first head gasket I replaced, that one was a multi-layer metal gasket that I replaced with a regular Felpro. I will get a new one anyway, I will not risk all that labor for $27 worth of gasket. I am tempted to redo all the valves since I'll have it taken apart but I am running low on resources now. Maybe I'll just check if they need resitting.
I definitely want to try pulling the head with the intake manifold on, pulling the nuts and bolts attaching the intake manifold onto the head are certainly the hardest part of the job for me. If the actual seat (s) is gone I'll have to send it to the machine shop, last time he replaced a couple of valves in my Honda and charged me $20 per valve, I think his work and prices are reasonable.
