This vehicle does not have cruise.
I have always wondered why it shifts down too soon. The slightest hill makes it shift down.
So you are saying the switch bolts are accessible by removing the oil pan? What is the name of the switch so I can look for one?

Rasmeidirt
This is where I got the COP’s:

Ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/142117589574?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

I have no comments china cloned, cops,, they are dirt cheap.. as low as boots, here,

The Suzuki 96-98 SPORT 1.8L 33410-77E11 (96-97 with external ignitior) and 33410-77E21 in 98' with internal ignitor. (apples and oranges different)
here are the real parts, who to buy clones on such a rare car ,is not easy, so few still running not , and less asking for help...
in 1998 the ignitors were moved into the COP actual /

the cable can fail many ways
snap
rust and seize
fray and jam

or just need lube?
replacing it is a nightmare. right? unlike the very old 3L30 3,speed.

only the transmission book
see the PNRDL switch here, on the rGHT end of the Manual CONTROL VALVE. ROD.

NOW SEE INSIDE TRANSMISSON
SEE PART20,,, THAT IS WHAT THE END OF THE CABLE FITS UPON. AGAIN IT IS INSIDE THE BOX

I'd attempt to lube it and free it up,, avoiding a huge job.

this box is A44DE (Aisin BorgWarner) how to connect this end , is by their design not suzuki's

if use a motorcycle hand lever cable oiler. ever seen cables on a motor cycle, throttle or clutch
the sell cable oilier that have fitting tool allowing you to force lube a cable.
after wait 24hr. see if it Free's up?
might save 5hours hard labor. or more..

more.see this
see chapter 7b1?
see page 86 (pdf page)
doing exactly this step, cable off. step 14 to 20 is the DEAL.
drain pan oil
and the VB is removed. a very risky step that. step 18 is not easy. what if VB gasket is damaged.
doing this on car, with VB dripping in face, and then removing the VB bolts, and it wanting to fall on your face, is no fun, I.m thinking Bunji cords wrapped here, then tilt the VB down, and detach cable, then let bunji pull it back up?
