Does thicker ignition wires boost the wngine power?
#3
try to know that there are vast numbers of insulation materials.
and the poor grades need to be thicker, see?
the limit here is wires must flex. so can NOT be made of glass or ceramic, (like your AC power company uses in 1million volt transmission lines)
but must be made of plastics, and there are vast numbers of plastics. Silicon rubber is popular sure. and good.
and the outer layer needs to be fuel and oil proof.
so many wires are in layer. for that reason.

if the car is stock the stock wire work perfectly ! (for spark) how long they last?, is another parameter....
if you buy mag wires, the wire and the insulation is better and runs LONGER. lasts...

power is never gained ever, unless car is not stock or the wires in the car are bad, as all seem to do after 60k miles,
the other issues is vibration, the stock carbon wires, love to fail with vibration and this engine shakes, it has no SILENT SHAFT balancer in the block.

just buy the $30 BOSCH mag wires, you will not be sorry you did, and wallet happy and zero hype on wires.
if rich?, NGK blue mag wires, the mag wires are coils, and are inductive, they use inductive reactance to get the RFI noise down. (not silly weak carbon string)
the best prices, google the Bosch partnumber to find them, many times on ebay they have over stocked parts, at 1/2 price...
