I replaced the gasket between the manifold and the downpipe 4 years ago because one of the nuts loosened and it blew the gasket out.
Now it hapened again a few months ago.
Should I just use lock washers to keep them from loosening or add lock-tight also?
P.S. They didn't have lock washers on them when I replaced the gasket the first time.
the parts list shows no washer
but the nuts, can be crimp nuts, ever seen those?
and will fit tight, and im sure long ago lost
on mine , I upgraded to brass nuts and 3 sst lock washers.
the brass never ever seize.
never use nylock on exh systems (nylon lined nuts)
nor use loctite, 1500 degrees here, too hot.
but antisieze compound works for steel nuts.
K. Can you tell me what the size/threadpitch (or whatever it's called) that goes on those studs please?
If I drive the parts store it will be to hot to remove one in the parking lot.
