94 tracker died while driving down the freeway

I have a '95 Tracker 16Valve and two different times wires within the harness that runs along the passenger side of the engine, under the intake manifold, shorted to ground. One was the wire to the alternator and the other was for the temp. gauge. Had to run new wires routed differently because no easy way to get at the original harness. Heat and vibration cause the harness anchors to cut into the wires and short them to ground. When my alternator wire shorted it killed the engine and blew a fuse.
